Would the exhaust flue gasses from the house boiler

damage the bodywork on that motorhome? Neighbours new to them motorhome, so would mention it to them if the answer is yes

Boiler fumes are quite acid so yes if it's an aluminum body.
That type of flue is easy to extend providing parts are still current should be able to extend it a meter upwards.

Could rivet a small cowl infront the flue to redirect gasses away from the van.
Our boiler flue is about 2ft from, and pointing at, the porch window.
In 15 years is tinted the glass with a brownish stain but as its frosted glass we never bothered about it.

Not a good idea,

The acidic exhaust gases will condense on the side of the van, potential corrosion & paint damage.

Thanks guys

As others ha w already said, the plume is quite acidic so will ruin the paint over time.

Don’t be tempted to rig something up. Get the proper extension kit.

I you decide to tell him , make sure he gets a Gas Safe engineer to do it , Don‘t ad - hoc bits to wall to divert or extend without contacting a Professional as this can affect the appliance working safely ,by looking at the Flue in the picture it may or may not be a condensing boiler so a plume kit would not be appropriate ,also looking at a Flue from outside the building doesn’t necessarily mean the boiler is right behind it meaning it may not be able to be extended .
