We - the least intrepid travellers on the planet- are starting to go off grid. Our toilet cassette needs emptied every day. At most - a day and a half.
This is restricting our off grid adventures since we are not of the spade and bogroll variety.
We were thinking of getting a spare cassette but have no garage.
Does anyone else have a spare loo cassette gently sloshing in transit ?

You dont say what van it is, but every van has some sort of storage, we always had 2 , and had room, but the storage on my Kon Tiki is woeful, but i can still get one in the slide out belly locker... just. Maybe you can put something else in the van instead.

Unless you have some weird health issue or an extra small cassette id suggest you are using too much water in your flush.

3 days minimum for us - maybe 5. Even off grid try to use public loos whenever possible and I (as a man) will happily find a bush to pee behind instead of using the loo.

I have bladder problems, i only flush a little, and only deposit soiled paper TMI i know, in the cassette, have a small bin in the loo for the rest. This has extended our use by at least a day, would probably not flush and just give pan a quick spray round from a bottle but have yet to try that, am sure it would use a lot less flush.

So you could probably extend the day, or day and a half, by following our Billy’s example, with 7 gallons down each leg 👍🏻

If there are only two of you ,i can't see how you could fill one in a day, but all i can say is what has been said by others, when empty don't put any water in it, and don't flush any more than absolutely have to, as someone else said a squerty bottle is plenty and when out and about make sure you use someone else's toilet before going back to the van, cafés, restaurants, public toilets, or anywhere else where there's a toilet, and if you are truly out in the wild anywhere there is a tree.
Then I'm sure you could do at least 3 days.

Instead of flushing every time, buy some pink caravan toilet cleaner (1ltr container) then decant some into a spray bottle and spray the bowl after each use. We use this instead of flushing and it keeps the toilet smelling sweet. Result 4 to 5 day emptying cycle.

We carry a spare cassette, we fill one in 2 days, Ive been to the doctors and he has had a poke around but he thinks its okay.

Perhaps your drinking too much

Hope you are not trying to use your MoHo loo like the one at home…….sounds as if you are half filling the bowl with water before use, opening the slider when you have finished to let everything fall into the cassette and then flushing with copious amounts of water!!!

We carry a spare cassette in a box in the garage, Normally two of us on board and when off-grid we easily manage 6-7 days if needed before emptying……and, no….I don’t pee into the grey water tank using the washroom sink or behind a tree!

When you empty cassette only put a splash of water back in.
Don’t put any water in before pee/poo.
Flush sparingly.
Paper into a scented nappy bag in a lidded bin-empty that every day.
