Hi all.
Can someone please tell me if the Bip&Go badge can be used in multiple vehicles, or do I need a separate one for each vehicle?
Thank you so much :)

I believe there is some degree of camera number plate recognition with Bip&Go. For example it works in Portugal which has camera gantries rather than toll booths. Car parks where the tag can be used also use number plate recognition.

So, in short I would say no! Though perhaps you may be able to register multiple vehicles with them when signing up.

On Bip&Drive you can just add extra vehicles in the App. You can have up to 3 electronic tags for the windscreen so you don't need to keep changing them around as an individual and get a 50% discount in them. If yiu register as a company you can have more. If you read their FAQs page all this info is on it....

We hired a car in Portugal and they wanted to charge me €2 a day to activate their toll tags but I asked them if I could use my bip and go they said no as it was registered to a specific reg number .

You can use a tag in any vehicle. For any years I swapped mine between a VW T5 and a 4t Motorhome.

I’ve looked at the Bip&Go website and it all seems self explanatory except I cannot see how you pay the bill. Is it as you get charged for the tolls plus the once a month fee or is everything accumulated and you pay the bill monthly? Whichever way how do they collect it, direct debit, card payment? I’ve never used the tags except for Austria where it was compulsory for my vehicle where I had to put credit on the account so am interested in how it is collected. Cheers

I have a Sanef bip and go telepass for the last few years and in 🇫🇷 it works in the MH or in a car e.g 🇨🇭hire car ex Geneva on 🇫🇷 autoroutes.
ive not tried it in other countries

They used to charge my credit card as you went. Since Brexit they no longer allow this but insist on DD from your bank through IBAN. I would assume it is still pay as you go

As you live in France , have a look at ATMB, it’s cheaper , you don’t pay an annual fee and only pay for the months you use it. Riverbankannie and I have been using it for years. You can use it on a car as well.

Yes, we were sent 2 holders for the tag so one went in the car but not stuck to windscreen so that I could easily lend it to my son.
I didn’t answer earlier as I thought that the OP was particularly asking about Bip & Go and the ones we have are Liber-t from ATMB.

Thank you. Can you tell me please, to use one in our MoHo and car, do I order a 'light vehicles' tag? Also, it asks how many tags I want. Do i order 1 and switch it to whichever vehicle I'm taking out or do I need to order 2? I'm so confused by this!! :D

Sorry, I haven’t been looking at the forum after I posted.
You only need to order one as presumably you will only be using one at a time whether in car or motorhome. When in MH i clip it to its holder that I have stuck on the screen, when using it in the car I just leave it loose and hold it up when approaching the gantry across the road. It goes “bip” so you know when operated.

However our MH below 3.5 ton so class 2 like cars so light vehicles. If your is heavier might be different.
All the invoices are online so you just log in to look and it lists all the tolled journeys, date and time, entry point and exit.
I attached a Santander zero credit card which has no usage fees for foreign transactions - just charges the current exchange rate.

We are the same as Riverbankannie so have one tag and two clips. I did have a Post Office Credit card attached but that expired and I’ve just added my Santander Zero credit card. Ours is Class 2, light vehicle.

Our motorhome when we first had a SANEF tag was 4t Chausson, albeit low profile

SANEF/Bip’nGo invoices are posted.

Could you give me details of this please. Mine used to be linked to our Halifax Clarity card, but this year they insisted it had to be paid by DD via IBAN so I’m expecting surcharges

I’m not sure that you can get one now. The zero account name came from a previous bank Alliance and Leicester, Santander took them over and kept the credit card name and conditions,
However these days you could try something like Revolut or Starling. I have a Revolut account to keep euros and Swedish Krona in but I haven’t yet investigated using it for automatic payments.

You will have to go onto the Santander bank website , I’m not sure if you have to have a current account with them to get it but I have one anyway . I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if you do. Their current accounts give fee free cash withdrawals in Spain but the Santander Zero Credit card if fee free world wide for payments provided you pay it off every month. I used to have their 321 credit card but the monthly fee stopped being worthwhile.

Actually I’ve just looked and it doesn’t look like it’s available anymore.

When my Post Office credit card ran out they were replaced by JAJa but they had some terrible reviews so I never activated my card. I’ve got Revolut and Starling but never thought to use them.

Sorry, I meant which tag do you have and their contact details. I’m happy with C”Arita, but SANEF no longer allow me to use a credit card

carolyn and I have the Liber-t tag from ATMB. On website press on the french flag top right to change to English.

Just going back as I looked on ATMB website, a car is Class 1. I think that the class is determined by height and length of vehicle at the time of passing the gantry. So it doesn’t matter which vehicle you are in unless HGV.

There is a small network of roads and of course the Mont Blanc Tunnel , controlled by ATMB and the no charge if you use it 3 times in a month only applies to those roads. However you can use the tag on all French toll roads and it talks about car parks too but we have never tried to use it in a car park.
