According to todays Spanish news, Benidorm is cracking down on electric scooters which will have to be insured and only used on some cycle lanes as well as a total drink ban on all cycles and any other electric vehicle. Spanish police are blocking and issuing heavy fines of 1000euros first offence. Best leave your bike on site in your motorhome garage if you are intending to have a drink. Or have been drinking the night before.

It always amazes me how many people think it is okay to ride a bike etc when intoxicated/over the limit, I'm not sure if they are trying out for the Darwin awards or just plain stupid!

We used to be really good on the bike pub crawl.. Knee down and everything ?.
Wouldn't do it now ? we survived, but not advised ?

Didn't we just, I used to ride home with a mate after a couple. I'm convinced we covered twice the distance as we did when sober. I was following one night when he started to sway to the left straight up someone's drive around the porch and out the other side of the drive but we never once fell off.... ?

Ive been to a lot that did result in being the last journey but one . , and it still happens a lot now , but unless out of the ordinary not even newsworthy ! .

Geo I'm totally and constantly amazed at the number of activities we have survived for many generations.
Suddenly now we find they all result in instant death :Eeek:

When we were kids 6-7 years old we used to jump on the empty pit tubs that had emptied the coal at the coal wharf, and we would jump off just before the engine winding house.
We’d also climb in an old oil drum and roll it down a hillside, we used to get into an old scrap yard that had old hand wound tipper trucks sit in the trucks whilst a mate wound the back up and see how long we could hold on plus loads more idiotic things that a child doesn’t see has dangerous.

Hanging off the rear of the lorries and getting a ride!!. Jumping onto the rear platform of buses and off just before the Conductors hand connected with your ear!. Putting half pennies (or farthings) on the railway lines to see how flat they would get. "Abseiling" down the cliff at the coast, using Ma`s washing line. :hi5:

Writers of "Benidorm" are going to have to re write the Script too.? :giggler:

I must confess to being guilty of this.

We stayed at the Chertsey CC site some years ago and cycled down the Thames ( not public highway except for a tiny bit) to a pub about 2 miles or so away.

The kids weren’t with us so we got a bit “ stuck” in the pub.

On the way home I only fell off 4 times which I was quite pleased with(y)
