Hi
We are about to head to Portugal from uk and can anyone advise best SIM card to get for using in our mifi purely for tv .

Thanks

Depends how many hours a month you watch
We are using TESCO Mobile which has no roaming restrictions or limits
£30 a month for a 100gb of data on a rolling contract .
No VPN required as it’s a U.K. sim

Many, many threads on this forum about this topic. the search button is your friend, top right of screen.

www.simcorner.com 30 day 200gb data sim EU and UK. a bit expensive. or. RWG. EU only sim. 30 day 100GB £30.00. i've used RWG before in EU and worked pretty well. I'm sure most uk phone companies have fair usage caps. from 25gb to 35gb.

has anyone purchased a sim in Europe that will not be restricted to 25-35 g

No restrictions on Tesco mobile , I’m on my second month in Spain and used up 96gb the first month mostly watching evening TV .
If you purchase a sim abroad you’ll probably get more data for you money but you will need a VPN to watch live U.K. tv

Thanks I only need it for a 30 day holiday though and don’t want to enter into a contract

Have a search through other SIM in Europe threads and you’ll find that it’s easy peasy to buy an in-country data SIM for 100/200gb for €10-15 from dedicated phone shops - often located in the foyer of large supermarkets. That’s exactly what I’ll be doing in France and then Spain shortly, as per last year.

Did you use the data to watch tv if so were you restricted to just France and Spain programs . I have a mifi I want to put it into

Can’t give you a direct reply on that I’m afraid as I have NordVPN installed on the router and have never had issues receiving any U.K. TV stations or apps - nor anything elsewhere in the world but that’s largely down to KODI on the Firestick. 🤫

Hi, we landed in Bilbao this morning and drove down to Logrono.

There i got a Vodafone PAYG sim - 28days - 100(+140 on offer) so 240gb for €15. The young lady set my phone up and it's now tethered to my pad and laptop. Simples.

There are several stores in both Bilbao and Santander.

250 gb tesco sim card for £19 pm at the moment.
Just signed up for this deal at the local Tesco. Advised that the 250gb roaming will last for the duration of the contract so until March 2027.
As Anita also has a Tesco Sim I got it for £18 per month plus it includes £30 of Tesco clubcard vouchers as well.
The deal is due to expire on 23rd March and the advisor didn't think it would be repeated.
