Best pay load

Can you help with what you are looking for, over 3500kg or 3500kg and under? Though I could assume you will always get the best with over 3500, you then bring in those 4500Kg to 7500Kg as well - do you want those including?

Sorry
Yes

Over 3500
We currently drive a 22 year old RMB
It’s 7.4 m
Lots of bells and whistles
And a good pay load!!
But it’s time we looked at something at least a bit younger!!
Money pot isnt bottomless!!

Edward,

If you're happy with the length of your current van then stick with the '>7.5m category' but go for something with a heavy chassis.

You can then opt for almost anything that ticks your boxes thereafter; i.e. layout, budget, equipment and brand reputation etc.

All the best,

Andrew

What really irks me on these searches is how difficult I find it to know what the pay load is and I suppose our second criteria the size of the water tanks- that info doesn’t seem to be important when selling!!
I asked the question re a Concorde on Motorhome Depot and he couldnt answer - or find out!!

Yes indeed, it can be a puzzling exercise since the specs can vary so differently from one van to another.

In some cases just a change in the manufacturing year for the same model can throw up a few differences and then it becomes quite tough to find the exact technical spec of the van unless you know someone else who owns one.

I know it's a pain in the arse but you can always post-up on FUN and get us busy-little-beavers to do the research.

We don't mind helping out :)

Thank you!!
I’ll do that when I think I might have found a possible!!

You mentioned Concorde in a previous post and in that instance the liner-class/posh-class MoHo's will almost certainly have the bigger and better capability.

If you start looking at the mid-range 'normal brands' then expect a decrease, or even a huge reduction in the capacity of water, waste and power.

It sounds to me as if your focus will be very much planted on the more premium range of MoHo's, albeit a few years old.

Good luck,

Andrew

Agree entirely with Blue Knight. Sounds like you are in the Concorde or Niesman arena. There is a very big Hymer just hit the market but I am not sure What payload it has. RS do bespoke, as do a few others, on larger chassis. Not really in my knowledge base but others will be along who have models similar to those you are looking for. Good luck with your search.

Not always the case though as it is still chassis dependent, 5t sprinter chassis are a bit up against it in the payload department IVECO are pretty good but again there are different chassis 40C 50C 60C 65C etc basically 40 is 4000kg 60 is 6000kg etc etc, the later 72C so 7200kg can be taken to 7495kg and actually over that to 8150kg but that's then into trucking C licence territory.

15edward if you are looking at N+B and why not ;) I can point you towards some older brochures and spec sheets, at one time there was older Concorde brochures on Southdowns web site.

Found a few Concorde brochures here, http://www.southdownsmotorcaravans.co.uk/2012-concorde-motorhomes/2012-concorde-downloads.php

You do have to be careful though as every van will have added options and that can take a big chunk out of the available payload figure.

that’s very helpful
Thank you
Bit slow responding - breakdown! (Now sorted)
I think it’s just a very strong pointer!!
N+B appeal
And the Concordes
Though I then edge up to 8-9 m which seems long
If my numbers come up the Phoenixes on mobile de look good !

Our Autotrail Delaware with no one on board, empty water tanks and the 90 litre fuel tank 1/2 full
is 3650kg so 850kg payload. It has a solar panel, spare tyre, inverter, rear semi air, electric levellers.

PhoeniX are cracking vans but pretty rare in the UK, N+B also quality vans and more prevalent in the UK spending on the bed arrangement you want you could get a Flair at 8 metres, Concorde pretty similar I would imagine but don't know the ranges so well.
