Hi gang! We’re off to Beziers (Languedoc, France) in late June and I’ve downloaded The Rough guide to Languedoc and Rousillon into my Kindle, but I like to have a map of an area I’m visiting. I want LOTS of detail! What’s the best one to get? We‘ll be parking the MoHo in a campsite on the Canal Du Midi and hiring a little car to whizz round in when we get there. I want a paper one ideally, something we can pop in the rucksack or glovebox, what have all you travel gurus found to be the best?

Once again Cheers!

One word, for me, - Michelin Local. The scale is 1cm to 1.5km (about 1' to about 2.25M). I think it is #339 for Gard & Herault you will want. Their maps are ubiquitous. Once in the area visit the Tourist Office - there will be plenty of options, and if they don't do road maps they will tell you where to get an appropriate one. And they will almost inevitably speak perfect English.

Oh, and given you have plenty of time you could get a copy now for your planning (and dreaming).

Great! Thanks for that Chuns!

I use Outdoor active.

It has OS maps UK wide and the equivalent in France. You can find routes, walks, cycles and download them to use offline too.

I think it’s about £5 a month.
