Have had a couple of trips now where we could really have down with a pair of levelling chocks. Any preferences? Fiamma Level Kit with bag popular but is 100mm max height sufficient? And is 200mm wide enough? Dethleffs Advantage with 15in wheels.

In 11 yrs of motorhoming i've only used my levelers twice to level and once as chocks on a very steep hill.
I think most people have a set of levelers around they could sell i know i've got a set to sell.

Oh that's quite interesting. We've only had two trips and on both occasions we regretted not having levellers.

We didn't use leveling chocks on our trip, and didn't even know why we had to until the last day, it was another camper asking me about them and he said it was to keep the fridge level, he even had a Stanley spirit level to check his own. Our fridge worked perfectly all week.

You'll know when the levels not right when draws open by themselves and doors don't close properly. It's OK for one night but after that it's a PITA. I use the Fiamma level kit all the time

We have a pair of yellow Fiamma ones we use most nights ... used to be used for caravan ... not very high but have always sufficed (just).

We have a pair of Fiamma Magnums which came with the motorhome: they're pretty compact so easy to store, but they weren't particularly effective so we replaced them with a pair of Fiamma Level Ups - the extra couple of cms seem to make a difference.

Having said that, for a one-night stop we only use them if the slope is really bad, otherwise we just put up with it. If we're stopping somewhere for a couple of days then we do use them because they help stop the fridge door swinging shut on you when you're trying to find the beers.

I don’t enjoy sliding down the bed during the night so my toes hit the wall at the end! That then gives me cramp and initiates an animated performance of the cramp dance around the van. Ramps for me and self levelling as soon as we can afford it.

When we got the van we used our yellow Fiamma ramps previously used for the caravan. They split after a few times so we got Milenco Quattros, that was 10 years ago. I reckon to use them about one in three times I pitch up. Being level helps the fridge though modern fridges are less sensitive to tilt, the drains work much better when the van is level.

We use the Milenco Quattro's previously on our 4.5 T Autotrail and now with our 4T Burstner. The first set got used regularly both on site and when parked up at the yard as the ground was very uneven and I didn't want it park up on the tilt incase it stressed the chassis or upper body. The first set did get brittle and start to deteriorate after about 7 years hard use but was happy enough to buy a replacement set.

Make sure that you stay levelheaded ? when spending your hard earned cash

We have some in the back used very occasionally.

I am often amused, we go to a site where we regard the pitches as level. Some MHers will come along and spend ages with their chocks getting "perfectly" level, no idea why. ?

Hi, sorry for going all quiet. We're in far west Wales, so everything is miles from us. Have opted for a pair of Thule levellers but thank you very much for the offer.

I found that the best way for me was to make my own the wheels can be on the flat I have two levels and the wheels sit on the flat not on a slope been using them since 2007 see picture and zooming. Surprisingly light in weight. I wanted longer ramps cost £30 to make.

I have (and use regularly) a pair of Milenco Quatros. However, your main consideration should be where you are going to store them when not in use - the Quatros take up a lot of space but fit nicely into my planned under-bed storage and are easily accessible from outside.
If the Quatros can't get me reasonably level I'll park somewhere else!
