Me again 3rd time today!!

We have now booked for end of Sep for a couple of months in Spain/Portugal, I have a reunion to go to in Benidorm in early Oct with many old Army colleagues, can you informative people suggest the best campsite to set up home for a couple of weeks with easy access to the delights of Beni? VMT Tim

La Torreta is the best situated, nice pool, Masymas supermarket close by and on the main Rd to town centre, 20 minute walk to the beach. The lower pitches can flood if there is prolonged heavy rain.

Villasol is also close to town but it's on a back lane and Ann doesn't like the walk home at night.

Do you have a dog? Torretta ,Raco and Arena Blanca allow dogs but Villasol dont.
Torretta is nearest to the clubs and just behind Benidorm Palace. Villasol is a nicer campsite but as said the walk from town or clubs at night is dark and down a couple of back streets. Check them out on line There are some funsters at Villasol at the mo with s thread on fun.

Do you have a dog as some dont except in beni do we stay on el raco
edit i was toooo slow

Thanks guys all very helpful, no dog for us at this stage maybe in the future when we retire.

WE regularly use Arena Blanca only 150m further out of town than La Torreta and no chance of flooding

BUT at 8m that is the biggest van I'd take in but once set up it has everything for day to day living and an easy pub crawl down to the beach
In the daytime if you have a bike you can get everywhere you need and the Chinese supermarket is around half a km away and there is a accessory shop inside El Raco but it also has a pretty good if tiny camp shop

Google Maps disagrees, me too as we go to Torreta a lot.

Villasol is on the well lit main road,Armanello Camping is behind Villasol on a back lane without streetlighting

But there is no pavement just a drain channel on the Villasol side. And the walk down from the clubs at the top of the hill is in darkness..the main road may be well lit but the walk down certainly isn't .

October is Gota Fria season. If you get one of those downpours then flooding will be almost a certainty. Very localised though. This was just south of Alicante on the N332. Five miles away at Gran Alacant, the pavements were barely wet.

The English translation of Gota is Gotcha get out of this if you can.

There are now cycle/pedestrian lanes on both sides of the Villasol road, with 3 pedestrian crossings one at the Torreta end one directly outside and one where you cross to the road up to the top.
