I am taking the coffee machine out of our new motorhome to give us more cupboard space. I need to split the socket to get at the cables as they are through the frame of the machine. I've managed to get into the void at the rear so I can get at the cable. If all else fails I will cut the cable but I don't want to. The face of the socket will not go through the hole as it's too big and I can't fathom how to take the front plate off. There is not enough cable to let me pull a bit through and look at it properly.
Any ideas please.

Pictures would be helpful as from what you have written i cannot make out what you mean?

I have never done one but AFAIK the frame just clips off and then you have access to the screws holding the plate in place. Feel around for a small groove, use a plastic tool or flat blade to lever off.
This is from their catalogue.
"These frames snap fit on to the Berker sockets and switches as part of the Berker modular product concept."

I can't guarantee that the photos will help, even I don't understand what I mean sometimes..

I think you pull the entire thing forward, so that only the cable is through hole. Then turn around and you have two screws holding on the rear cover.

Disconnect the socket from the wire of the front face? That will leave the back box in the void

I don’t have enough cable to pull it through, If I cut the cable I can’t put another socket in the same hole unless I extend the cut cable. It’s through the frame of the coffee machine. I’ve got all the screws out so the only thing holding the coffee machine in the cupboard is the socket.

It went in no matter how short the wires, therefore it must come out.

not necessarily it may have been prewired and fed in through the hole and connected the other end

That’s what we think.

As for morning coffee, a good cup of Yorkshire Tea will do the job just as well.

I have taken a panel off at the back of the socket, the cable vanishes into the ceiling. There is no play in the cable at all.

I replaced a socket similar to yours . I will try and find the pictures . The cable had a connecting block inline about 3 feet from the socket .

It appears the problem is between the back of the socket and coffee maker.... Whichever end was prewired the other end wasn't.

The back box just clips onto the socket, so you can prise it off. The cable might be gripped by a clamp in the back box, held by two small screws, accessed from the back of the backbox. which you can reach, I think.

Then maybe you can push the back box into its hole, and pull the socket front part and rotate it enough to undo the wiring screws.

If that's not enough, if you push/pull the back box hard enough it will go through the hole in the wood, and perhaps will slide up the wire out of the way. Then you could undo the wiring screws from the back, through the hole in the wood.

I took the two small screws out when I started. I'll have another go at it this morning, the fact that it's going through the metal casing of the coffee machine as well as the wood doesn't help. I think that brute force may be answer. If that fails then a set of wire clips.
As I'm a delicate little soul 👱🏻‍♀️ I might need to find someone stronger than me to use the brute force.
Thank you for your advice everyone,

It's done thanks very much.
I had to go to hospital first thing for a pre op covid test. When I got home himself had used 'brute force' and a bit of intelligence (so he tells me), prompted by your assistance.
The socket it only slightly damaged. Looking at it it seems to be an EU socket so only the coffee machine can be used in it. I'll replace it with a UK one once the coffee machine frame is out.
Once again many thanks.

Be careful that you get Berker sockets, not CBE which look similar and are easier to find. Nothing wrong with CBE sockets,
but the screw holes and the backbox hole are just different enough to be a pain.

Thanks for the info. They are now on order from Towsure.
