We have just changed our van and the new one is already fitted with an Oyster Cytrac dish and an Avtex TV.

Will this dish, combined with an Icecrypt S1600CHD tuner, receive Intelsat 907 in Spain?

I have searched the TV & Satellite forum but would like further advice.

Many thanks,

Vic

Good afternoon Vic,

The Cytrac system should be able to achieve a lock on this satellite throughout the majority of Spain however it’s possible that it may struggle in southernmost areas.

Regards,
Anthony

Well done Anthony!

Many thanks for your help. I am sure I would never dream of trying to access this particular satellite but it is interesting to know that it may be possible.

Is there a chart showing LNB angles for different areas available anywhere?

Thanks once again.

Best regards,

Vic

Hi Vic,

To be honest there's not a lot of information out there about specific angles for each country however there is a website called www.dishpointer.com where you enter your current location and the satellite you wish to receiver and it will give you the relevant information back including the Skew angle.
All you need to know is that the LNB is turned clockwise for minus values and counter clockwise for plus values.
There are normally markings on the LNB to show skew value but most of the time they can't really be trusted. If you turn the LNB so the cable is pretty much straight down then that's normally 0 degree skew.

Anthony,

Thank you very much for the information regarding LNB angles.

Best regards,

Vic

Anthony,

Is that the same with the Cytrac system, where you have to turn the whole dish? When looking at the back of the dish, does the whole dish have to be turned clockwise for minus values?

Mike

Hi Mike,

Yes, exactly the same however there should be + and - markings on the chart on the rear of the dish to guide you.
