Bavaria T71LP (its a Pilote, honest) electrical problem

I’m not sure on your specific control panel, but some allow you to select which battery is in use.

It appears that the dealer we purchased it from had reversed the batteries on the back of the control unit. I had just been lucky so far with power usage running off the engine battery. A member found the manual for me and it all appears to work now. I am delighted
