Hello.
Is it okay to leave your 12v power on when you are travelling? Reason behind the question is that we want to maintain a 12v supply to power the second (beer) fridge in the garage whilst moving between points where there is an EHU. We have 12v and 240v sockets in there on the habitation circuits.
Thanks. đź‘Ť

We don’t get a choice, only 12v in the cab works. But the fridge stays on.

We also use a Pelican ice box which stays frozen for days

Why not?

If the 12v is live when driving then use it.
I would have to put the power on at the control panel but, having checked it with a multimeter when the engine is running, it shows 14.3v indicating that the alternator is charging through to the leisure battery fine.
I cannot think of a reason why not but thought it prudent to run it past the knowledgeable folk in here.
Thanks đź‘Ť

I can't see why it wouldn't be okay. But I'll be reading answers from members who know better than me (most) with interest.

A second fridge for beer in the motor home? I like your style. You're living the dream!
