Hi does anyone know if the motorhome charger charges the vehicle battery while plugged into 240v?

:welco:
Most do but not all, easy to check, measure the voltage on the starter battery voltage should increase when the charger is on.

As you appear to have a Swift, it probably has a Sargent electric box. If so there are settings for EHU and Solar charging preferences.

:welcome4: My swift control panel lets me select which battery I want to charge when on EHU, but the controller seems to handle it so I have not had to alter anything.

Multimeter on battery with engine on. Over 13.5v it is charging under 12.8 it isn't. Then you know for sure. Battery master between batteries is a simple way to add trickle to engine battery if needed.

The voltage check is not 100% when using Sargent ECU. If charge set to 'Smart' the charge is sent to each battery depending on their state of charge. If vehicle battery was tested when the leisure battery was receiving charge, then it could well be below 12.8. The ECU checks every 4 hours unless the battery not on charge drops below the trigger voltage, when the charge will change over for 4 hours.

One of the best features of this site and RVOC is that people occasionally say thanks for the help ..... Rarely see on Facebok
