Morning all, my 2015 Autotrail seems to have stopped charging the batteries when on ehu. Both starter and leisure were always showing green and over 13volt but on the last two hook ups they are amber and showing just 12v with a low battery warning buzzer sounding even after being connected all night? Any thoughts please.

Assume the 240v sockets are working whilst hooked up ?
Check your 240v consumer unit. Are the breakers on?
Check the EBL. Is there a switch on it? Has the cable connection come out of it?

Sounds like your mains charger has failed.

But start by checking the basics. Do you have 230v to other applliances (fridge/sockets)? Is there a 'kettle' type plug in the back of the charger? Make sure it is tight. Is there an on/off switch? Are all the 230v breakers on the van set to on?

Elektroblock? Could be fuses, or contacts with the above. Check the yellow 20amp fuses, with a multi meter if possible.

As Tigger-Tim said, first check the basics.
The most basic is the lead etc. borrow another lead if you don't already have one, and plug it into another EHU. 👍

I don't know your van. When mine stopped charging I eventually found a blown 16 amp fuse inside my mains charger! My mains charger is located under the passenger seat and is a pig to get at so it took a while to get to that. Meantime I had put pigtails on the leisure battery and charged it using an Optimate charger off the mains sockets in the van while continuing my investigations.

P.S At this time of year solar should top up both batteries?

On the Autotrail the charger is built into the Sargent unit and should have its own fuse. So that needs checking.
You really need a multimeter to test the voltage both with EHU and from the alternator with engine running.

As suggested ,Check that the green charger switch on the Sargent PSU is on and illuminated . If it is not illuminated when switched on with EHU , 230v is possibly not getting to it.

Everything else works on ehu

Light is green everything else on ehu works fine

If your Sargent PSU is a EC500 model , there should be a 25a fuse for charger operation on the rear of the PSU on the units PCB , if this is ok , the separate charger may have failed or its connections faulty , you may find the charger behind or under the Sargent PSU. I expect it will be a Sargent PX300 charger , there will be a green/red charge indicator light on it to confirm it is on , and its output can then be checked.

Need to know if your charger is providing any power.
You could have a knackered battery which will drag the other one down. Or you could have something draining your battery such as a tank heater, or fridge sucking more power out the batteries than the charger puts in.

We accidentally, well me probably, knocked our charger off, fortunately the battery master and solar kept everything running ok. Was a long time almost a year before we discovered it 🤣
