Here's our bathroom tap.

I've been cleaning out the water system and, on turning all the taps off the pump continued to, er? pump.
I discovered that said tap handle isn't 'tight' and has a slight wobble.
Push the tap off and there is slight play and pushing it down to turn it off stops the pump but on releasing hand pressure the handle raises slightly and the pump kicks in again.

I've looked and can't see an obvious way of dismantling it the handle,(from the outside).

C'mon Funsters. How do I go about this?

Is there a screw underneath the red/blue plastic bungs , my bungs pop out with a small blade.

Having had a look it's obvious that there is screw under the Red/Blue. BUT?

I have seen in other vans that the Red/Blue is raised and plastic and would obviously yield to a blade/small screwdriver but in our case it isn't raised, in fact it could be described if anything as concave.
It refuses to submit to either a small craft knife or ocular flat screwdriver.

I damaged the blue and red bits removing them, but yes they do remove to reveal a screw.

My tap (maybe differt make etc ) has a pokey-in thing at the back...
Push it in and cover comes off to reveal screw and gubbins...

Ahh! That makes two of us. Doh!

For the info of all peeps with the same problem.
The RED/BLUE indicator in the middle is actually TWO pieces!!! and is profiled under to prevent them being put in the 'Wrong way around'
Being ham fisted and not knowing that it was in twp bits, resulted in me damaging the 'Blue' section.
Could I suggest a thin bladed tool, (small craft knife) inserted just down the middle of the two colours and lever would give a result.

Many thanks @Boringfrog and @Manic for the input.

I wonder how much (if it's for sale) Dometic would charge for the Middle Bit?

So having removed the plastic bits , sorry you damaged them, did you fix you fault.

I lost the little blue plastic arrow from the small Cadac: cannot get one of those anywhere. But you could fill the hole from a hot glue gun, then paint it with Airfix enamel.

But then I'd never get to that screw again. I'll see if I can find a tube of that diameter and fill it with glue (after silicone spraying the inside)In that way I way be able to 'fashion' a replacement.

Yup. The screw on the inside was loose. Tightening it up did the trick. No more pump working when tap at rest.(y)

The hot melt glue is quite soft and I don’t think it will stick to the tap. I wouldn’t use araldite as that would be permanent but I think hot melt would’ve ok, or bluetak with half of it mixed with cochineal!

Update on this.

I have found a source of the REICH!!! (cos that's the make) Red/Blue half moon indicators.

If anyone has them missing, send me a PM and I'll get them for you.
