What do you always stock up on when in certain places? Could be anything - motorhome-related, food, supplies…

I’m in Belgium and then, briefly, France so top tips for those countries most welcome.

Also interested in camping supplies shops generally - might be getting new chairs, and maybe Dukdalf are cheaper here?

Try Ikea, they pay in Euro's what we pay in pounds but the way the £ is going there won't be much difference!

We don't go with the intention of buying anything but if something catches our eyes we will buy.

Except (as we discovered) induction hobs at IKEA in Spain are twice the price as UK. Beware.

yeah, us too, but I was more asking for tips along the lines of “Buy olive oil in X, it’s better quality and half the price of home”

French bin bags for the van. Perfect size and drawstring. We had some friends buy and bring several rolls this week as we’re stuck over here for the time being.

Anyone tried Orzo, (pasta rice)

One can buy it in France and Portugal but not Spain. (if you know different please tell)

It's far cheaper in Portugal than UK.

The most obvious is wine. But we tend to avoid beer purchasing in France.
Germany has some great beers but don't forget you pay a reclying charge so not suitable to bring home.

Yes we have it on occasionally. No idea where madam gets it from.

Both Tesco and Sainsbury sell.
Tesco removed it from their 'ordinary' range, put it in their 'Finest' range with little or no difference in taste but a huge uplift in price.

In Germany we buy half a dozen bottles Lidl gin (about Euro 6 a bottle) to bring back to make sloe gin and hopefully raspberry gin but not a lot of those around this year near us. Makes great Christmas presents. Don't tend to buy much wine anymore, I don't know enough about it to make good choices.
Also can't resist a little trip to Auchan on the way back and generally get some cheese that makes the fridge stink. Oh, and the other things you can get in Auchan that seem essential at the time, that you never use. They do a good line in BBQ items as well. bought a new grill for my outside BBQ at about half the price they are here.

We brought a dozen bags of pizza flour back from a shop in Italy and I always bring a few boxes of Kiri cheese home too !
Nearly bought a grapevine in a pot last time we were on the Mosel, might have done ok up here the way the weather's going ?
