Well it’s just gone midnight in the Britless Dordogne and I have to report that my Banner Leisure batteries have lasted a full seven days despite a well known Funster who shall not be named... suffice to say his name begins with Len and ends in Ny saying they wouldn’t last a week...well how wrong he was ! I look forward to an eighth day of fully powered electrical appliances tomorrow....

Well it’s just approaching midnight here in the DoordogKnee and it looks like my Banner Leisure batteries are gonna pass the 9 week mark !!! All electrical appliance still working...Well pleased...if these give out tomorrow I might even order another set...

What you got charging them, we do have a fair bit of sun currently, I live a little lower in the lot et Garonne

2 Solar panels....seem to be doing their job...

My new to me MoHo came with a single banner fitted, dont want it out performing every other battery i have ever tried so i stuck a Yassa at the side of it to drag it down a little.
When it fails I can blame the Banner, everybody else does

When we bought our motorhome it had one 110 amp Banner leisure battery under the drivers seat and one 100 amp unknown brand of leisure battery under the passenger seat.
The vehicle battery was an unknown battery and eight years old. It was struggling in the cold so that was replaced that with a Banner.
The leisure batteries will be a matched pair of Banners when there time is up.
I used Banner batteries on my Landrovers including the winch batteries. They took some punishment being almost flattened on a regular basis. There are other batteries out there but I have faith in what I know.

i have two banners in there too see ok but I want lithium in there

Just had VanBitz replace my year old Banner with Lithium. I now have 4 x the power of the feeble manufacturer 72Ah Banner. I won’t let on how much my bank manager hates me.

Sterling lithium 120Ah Sterling B2B and swapped out the existing solar controller for a Victron thingy to get better power and profile from existing 100W panel. Left the details to VanBitz I think they had fun getting round some of the Sergant PSU

9 weeks?

How long batteries last is determined by their capacity and how much/little they are discharged before being re-charged and how many times this happens! (Cycles ?).
Lenny HB is only quoting what the industry is stating with regard to AGM Lead Acid batteries and Banner AGM have had a bit of stick to say the least.

Well it’s approaching midnight in the Dordogne and my Banner Batteries are still going strong after 9 months.....all appliances still working...Bit of trouble with my plumbing (MH plumbing) but can’t blame Banners for that.....Corkscrew seems to have bought it...too much use..these Banners are unbelievable.... I really think Lenny HB has got it wrong on this occasion....I look forward to many years trouble free use of electrical gadgets...off grid and on. Three Cheers for Banner !

You need some lithium in your life, Rob. Looks like a first class solution

They work even better in Arcachon...

Well made it to Aix-En-Provence (changed my mind about Portugal at a T-Junction) or at least a dodgy aire on a disused mine pit....Banners going strong after 7 years...why did I have such little faith....pulled into a Camping Car showroom and saw these...why had they not sold I wondered.....snapped them all up...doubt if I’ll need them..but belt and braces and all that...

Combination of factors. Existing Banner thing was small - 72Ah, so only a couple of days parked up using lighting, truma heater fans, and a fair bit of TV (I can stay up quite late) dragged it below half capacity. Solar wasn't doing much Autumn especially when cloudy with the basic controller. If you don't move far, with the feeble charger system (not a B2B) battery doesn't get a full recharge so you are in more trouble next day. Start using battery regularly discharging below 50% and quickly a cycle that it seemed to have less capacity.
Lithium is probably overkill, but it's one battery instead of two lead-acid or GEL types, and don't have space for 2. Combined with the better solar controller and B2B I should now be able to stay away from hook up for a few days at a time giving a lot more flexibility for cheaper and basic sites or wherever. In the medium term I'll be adding a moderate inverter so I can recharge my e-bike batteries.

Spoke to vanbitz about Lithium yesterday, we just need the battery so will go Sterling 120ah if it’ll fit. That will replace 2, ahem, Banner AGMs, more than doubling usable a capacity and saving circa 35kg.

Would have been better to spread the load evenly then the van wouldn't have fallen over. :ROFLMAO:
