Interesting read in ‘Private Eye‘ this week regarding the site…..

Would explain why the C&MC keep getting lease extensions granted by the council.
I wasn’t aware that the site was prone to flooding but, thinking about it with it being next to the dock, I shouldn’t be surprised…….!

IIRC there is a dock gate and sluice system at that end of the docks that keeps the level and would allow excess water to flow into the river. This is near the boatyard. I may be wrong.

But, good news if the plans fail

Marvin the Mayor has been criticised for failing to meet his promise to build thousands of new affordable homes. The Baltic Wharf site was originally going to be developed as a school (crazy idea but hey ho this is Brizzle).

I agree... however not a local but assume dock gate and a river that has highest rise and fall then the innards of dock would be safe... unless of coarse the flood water can somehow come from behind

Baltic Wharf is in Flood zone 3 the same as the proposed new site.
