I am considering installing a b2b charger for my 2018 Adria Matrix.

Has anyone done this, I am wondering about how to tie the cable from start battery under floor in passenger footwell to leisure battery behind drivers seat.
Will it have to go external under floor or can it be routed internally?

My 2018 Matrix has fairly substantial split charging cables already installed. Also if you have a Nordeletronnica N237 power supply unit fitted it already has a 75 amp split charge relay incorporated in it.
The existing cables are fused at 50amps in 3 places.
I bought a Votronic 30A B2B charger and incorporated this into the existing wiring as per the diagram given in the B2B's fitting instructions.
I changed the 100a/h factory supplied Leoch AGM out for a 160a/h Leoch lead-carbon SLCA12145 which is approx 15mm longer but 70mm higher than the original, so it fits in the same place.
The B2B is wired in series with the existing split charge relay. ie the cable from the cab battery is disconnected from the nordelectronnica and connected to the B2B input and the B2B output is wired to the nordelectronnica connector you have disconnected the cab battery cable from.
I did run an additional 10mm negative cable from the B2B to the hab battery negative terminal.
Also you can pick up the D+ from one of the connectors on top of the nordelecttronica unit and connect it to the D+ input to the B2B so it only switches on when the engine is running.
The set up works perfectly and does deliver a 30amp charge to the hab battery when its sufficiently discharged to accept a higher charge current.
The start and hab battery -ve's are already linked via a 10mm cable and chassis ground connection.
If you want a more powerful B2B you will have to uprate all the existing cables which I did consider but you would not be able to incorporate using the existing nordelectronnica for the voltage and current measurements it supplies to the display panel and you would need to disable the split-charge relay inside the power unit.

Thanks for the info. The motorhome is new to me so I guess I have to discharge the leisure battery and see how many amps the alternator provides.
It has a solar panel so batteries are full.
How do I tell if split charge relay is incorporated in power supply unit?
Thanks again

There are some decent runs when you remove the step plastics, and plenty space to run another.
The factory install runs alongside the seat then under the seats to the drivers side where it hits the fuse box behind the drivers seat (autotrail but prob the same) and leisure connector point.
I ignored this and run the cable to my under bench seat section directly behind the passenger seat with just 1 drilled hole.
Is easy enough when you take out the plastics you will see the runs and pre made channels.

Ive got pics if it helps

There is a make and model number on the power unit, is it a Nordeletronnica N237 ?

The power unit is normally fitted near the leisure battery, its an aluminium box approx 30cm wide x 20cm high x 10cm deep and has a number of multi connectors and fuses on top.

I dropped down from starter battery box in 35 mm flexible conduit round behind the heat shield and popped up through the floor at the leisure battery, and run in 16mm cable’s.
Was a doddle.

Hi I'm thinking about doing the same thing I've had a look and I think if you take the long vent in the floor between the two seats you should be able to run the cable from under the single passenger seat under the vent then along the top of the diesel tank into the cab batterie area ,if you lift up. The carpet between the seats you will see the rubber cover that is over the diesel tank float entrance , at least that's how I think I will do mine , but i will also look at what Adriaadventure says that might be easier to do .

Did you ever do this Trout as my batteries are nearing the end of their life and any Renault Adria knowledge would be of interest.
