Iā€™m a newbie
Hi everyone you must have been asked this question a hundred times so please forgive mešŸ„° question is what do I do with the original split charge system and will it e

The original split charge system makes a direct wire contact between the leisure battery and the starter battery when the engine is running, and disconnects when the engine stops. If you fit a B2B between the leisure battery and the starter battery, the split charge relay will short the input and output. The result is that the B2B will have no effect, and will do nothing.

When fitting a B2B, you need to disable the split charge relay. This sounds simple, but can get very complicated. Some split charge relays are built into the 12V distribution /fusebox, and simply disconnecting it will disconnect other necessary and/or useful functions. There are solutions to this, but they are often tailored to the specific distribution/fusebox. If you have further information on your system and the make/model of distribution/fusebox, you could be directed to a suitable thread that's solved this before, if there is one. Otherwise I'm sure there will be suitable suggestions.
