Hi I’m considering getting a 2015 or similar Bürstner nexxo t660. This will be a serious upgrade from our 2000 Swift sundance which is still going strong. We’re hoping this newer motor home will extend the uk season a bit with hopefully better heating and insulation and think the layout looks good for us. Does anyone have one and do you have any hints or tips when looking for one? Thanks

Currently in France in our 2015 T660 Sovereign. Good luck in your hunt. We've never seen one second hand in the three years we've owned it! It works for us mainly because we can get two folding ebikes under the French bed. We don't like transverse bed models. I've changed the table for a home built folding one. Swapped out the wing mirrors for medium length ones. I also fitted a spare wheel carrier underneath (holes already there). Some may find the bed a little high but I made a small step for the missus to use. A small price to pay for the storage space.

We use ours all year round. Note that the "Time" version has wood in it's construction but the Sovereign does not. We also identified the Pilote P680 as a candidate for a taller French bed but have only seen one of those in three years. Payload was low though.

If you have any specific questions please ask and if you are antwhere near Norfolk you're more than welcome to have a look round.

We have seen one for sale at a dealership not too far from us. It’s a sovereign and up for £49,950. Any thoughts about the price tag would be helpful as so few ( none) around it’s hard to compare! I too thought about folding bikes under the French bed! Thanks

Hi Steve Funster, my husband and I are now in dispute about where you put your bikes! Do you put them under the bed inside the van, or do they go in the externally accessed garage? Also what size are your wheels on your folding ebikes? He is a keen cyclist and would love not having to use a rack... Many thanks.

They go through the external door. They are 20 inch wheels so not a keen cyclists bike. But they serve our purpose and fit inside the van. We don't want bikes on the back either. I'd much prefer a full size bike but it's a compromise I can put up with.

We have had two T660s and the layout suits us two perfectly. Generally the finish is good, except the leatherette material on the driver/passenger seats has worn very badly and we recovered them with genuine leather. There are plenty of cupboards for two the bed is comfortable but the second bed is a pig to make. The table size is fine for us. The bath room is very spacious and the cassette loo is huge. We have had this for 4 years, we're away almost every other week in the summer and have covered 30+k miles very comfortably.
We did considere a T680G this year as the garage would be useful - but the compromise of the drop down bed was too much to convince us to change
It might be a good alternative if you have expensive bikes, you would have a problem sliding them into the hatch the under the bed.

The 660 design changed in 2015 to give a higher bed and more garage space. I think they only did it for a couple of years. It wasn't in last year's catalog (they may have had a Time model in Europe). The Sovereign I think was for the UK market as it came with oven and most options.

We have the older 2011 T660 in which we have travelled extensively around Europe and the UK.

Highlights - French Bed- easy to get out of! Bathroom, internal storage drive-in get experience.

Wish list - Garage, more electric plugs, lower TV stand. Side storage can be difficult to access

Would certainly recommend the van and you should enjoy it.

Thanks everyone for your really helpful comments, I only joined this forum yesterday and it's been fantastic to get so many replies. I've been to look at a 2016 Burstner T690 this afternoon and was impressed, although the bathroom is quite small, but it has a great garage! it's so hard to tick all the boxes. More to see tomorrow.

We have the larger T690g Sovereign model you went to view. Ours is a late 2016 model you can tell by the slightly different front grill it’s the same as the white vans built for 2017 the following year we also have the 150 engine with auto gearbox.

The earlier 2015 models mostly have the darker wood and white worktops the later 2016 vans have in our opinion the preferable lighter ginger teak furniture and black stardust worktops and table.

We bought this van new 2 years ago its our first motorhome and we are delighted with it, we still think it’s the best van we could have bought. During the last 2 years we’ve been to Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy and only had a couple of minor faults, a faulty waste valve and a broken clip of which there are several that hold the hob to the worktop.

The Sovereigns have so many extras as standard Remis blinds, full leather interior, leather steering wheel, oven, Truma heater that works on gas and electric, enormous garage with doors both sides, extra wide habitation door huge sky roof over cab, fly screens to all the windows door and roof lights to list a few.

If you value your bikes I’d have thought the 690 would be your best bet

Put the deposit down on a 2015 Bürstner Nexxo t660 this morning so very happy. Thinking about gas for it now and inclined towards a Gaslow installation. Is it possible to fit 2x 11 kg cylinders in the gas locker together with all the necessary plumbing? Thank you
