I’ve just watched the Fiamma privacy room setup video - blimey like the krypton factor. A fortnight ago we watched a couple of tuggers setup and pack up their caravan and also a couple of motorhomes setup their outside rooms - it all looks a bit a faff to me .

park up , plug in, chairs out , beer out - that’s us :-)

Agreed!
I foolishly bought a ‘camp room’(!) for my previous van’s awning....and only used it a couple of times......now I can’t give the bl##dy thing away!!!

:( ;)

Depends how long you are staying somewhere. A week or more and the extra space would be worth the hassle.

Best thing to do with free standing awnings is to colour code the poles for quick assembly.

We carry a day tent it only gets used a music festivals only takes 10 min to put up.

Tuggers putting up awnings has been the route a divorce so many times. It amazed us to watch a couple putting up an awning in the rain just as it was going dark. I didn’t want to go and offer help the mood was getting nasty. We shut the blinds and left them to it. Next morning there was no sign of the awning.

I absolutely hate awnings...they are so noisy when it's windy ...I am nervous putting them up unless it's extremely calm......nervous taking it down when it's windy in case it takes off when I release the pegs....nervous in case the wind rips the Fiamma thing off the side of the van.... it
Creaks and groans.. and keeps me awake all night..I love my quest pop up tho.😄

Having 2 kids, we got a Sunncamp Copia 325 Poled Porch Awning for extra space which against our Boxer, I can put up and take down myself in about 10 mins. If an awning is making a racket, it's not pitched properly.

A drive away awning is on the shopping list for when we are likely to be on a site for longer periods.

I suppose it depends on the type of sites you stay at and for how long.

We rarely stay anywhere for longer than two nights, (apart from some Fun rallies), so it's not worth the effort for us, plus we have plenty of room in our Inca.

We can put our omnistor residence room up in just over 30 mins but we used to put it up about 20 times a year so in a routine with it. Once you know how far out to wind the awning and how high to have the awning legs you can just put mark's on them so you can get it spot on every time without all the running about adjusting every second.
Now I'm not racing we dont use it much

The big caravan awnings are a massive mission but I've seen people put them up on friday evening and take it down on the sunday morning 🤔
Each to their own
