Latest van has an Omnistor awning & my tie down straps have clips at the top end from my Fiamma awning, whilst they do fit they are not very secure. Been looking for some Omnistor ones but haven't found any yet? Are they available? Thanks :0

Not sure but I think Peggypeg do one for Omnistore & Fiamma

Could you thread some small tie wraps through the buckles to make them more secure.

A pack of 100 is only a quid or so :)

Not wishing to be contentious but if it is windy enough to need tie-down straps then wouldn't it be best to wind in the awning to avoid damage?

I gave up with clips. 2 sturdy ratchet straps and a pair of 300mm pegs. Job done never and more problems.

Yes that's what I need, thing is, I already have the pegs, tie down straps & springs, only need to two top clips! ;)

So you would advocate never fitting tie downs? Really!

No, as they are slide in clips not buckles! ;)

no one suggested they were to be used when it was windy..

they are a precaution only, a perfectly calm day then from nowhere a sudden gust and an awning without tie straps can over the roof, seen it several times.. nasty and can be expensive. Wrecked awing and motorhome damaged.

if the wind is making the awning flap , time to wind in.. and even when strapped down, I never ever leave it unattended or out overnight .

My Fiamma tie down straps work perfectly well with my Omnistor awning so maybe your channel is slightly larger which make your Fiamma clips seem loose. I have an Omnistor 4900 if that makes a difference.

We go for simplicity and as little paraphernalia as possible as we tend to move on most days so, no, we would rather wind in the awning than mess about with tie-downs but each to his own.

ive got a thule awning and use the fiamma kit but use a dog collar clip/karribener to fit it to the top of the legs

I assume it's just the flat metal hooks that you want?

Could you adapt some ordinary metal hooks?

I have used the ones that slide in the rail from Lilly pad leisure for years they work really well.
