While washing the roof of my 2006 Bessacarr E795 this weekend, I was checking all roof fittings and found that the curved strip over the top of the awning was loose at one end.
It is held in place by 4 sets of 2 screws which are screwed into angle brackets which are bonded on to the side of the van.
After removing I found that not only the bonding had failed on the end bracket, but also on a middle one, so the strip was only held on by two brackets. I repaired by putting screws through the brackets to secure.
I am posting this as if all had broken away, then the flying strip could have caused harm to a passer by if flapping about or coming off, so it is worth a check if you are on the roof of a Swift with a factory fitted awning.
