Just changed my avatar to my usual animated gif but it's not animated ... works on other forums... help.... please

Hi Graham, sorry you are having problems. This non animation problem is normally because it is too big. But we just upped the allowable size so unless the file is very large it should work. Bryan is good at shoe-horning them in, I will ask him if he can have a look.

I just right-clicked and looked at the properties of your avatar and it is tiny. I think you are uploading just one frame of the animation rather than the whole file. Its worth checking that while we are waiting for Bryan, our avatar expert, to show.

Thanks Jim... it's all a mystery to me:Doh:

I thought i was being clever copying the url and pasting it in:RollEyes: ...happy to wait to see if Brian can de-mystify it for me:Wink:

Well Graham, some of us got it and some of you ain't :Rofl1:

Graham

P.S. Comparing the properties of your avatar and mine I reckon Jim is right. You're probably picking up a single image instead of the full series.

Update:

I'ved just checked the url original and it's fine but the fun system shows a quite different url... I'm guessing the problem lies with the fun system and how it deals with avatars....

Hi Graham,
If you PM me the url of the original I'll take a look at it if you wish

Bryan

pm on it's way Bryan... sorry about misspelling your name:Doh:

No worries Graham,

PM received, avatar fixed and inserted

Regards
Bryan
