We have an Autowatch 695 RLC alarm fitted to our motorhome. Recently it started to go off so following the advice from the installers (who are 500 miles away) I checked the battery in each on the 3 door sensors, the hab door and the 2 garage doors. One of the 3v batteries measured 2.8 volts so I changed all 3 for new batteries. All was good for a week and then it went off again. Im not sure if there is one fitted to the bonnet, but if there is, is it likely to be wireless with a battery? and what will it look like? Thanks

The bonnet alarm contact is normally a plunger type contact mounted on the bonnet slam panel.

A couple of us on the forum have had this contact cause the alarm to go off, either by it being corroded or the common cause is the sound insulation on the inside of the bonnet that the plunger presses against becoming compressed and allowing the plunger to make the contact.
I overcame this problem by gluing a small aluminum plate for the plunger to act against and stopping the sound insulation compressing.
I also replace the plunger contact with a stainless steel version.

Same alarm installed 2014 and similar problem started two years ago. Replacing batteries didn’t fix it. In December 2019 I replaced all four door (hab door, 2 x garage plus front locker) wireless switches and this fixed it. I guess one or more of the reed switches had gone bad. A new switch was £17.50 + vat and postage from Autowatch UK, code 695000.

thanks for the info
