Autotrail tribute

Hello all, i have just joined your forum. I have caravanned for 35 years, but in august last year i purchased an auto trail tribute. The vehicle has rearview camera just under the stoplight which is mounted quitehigh on the rear. I would like to fit fiamma 500 ultra box on the cycle rack, but ime not sure if this would be detrimental to rear view camera. Has anyone got a tribute 2018 with this box fitted that could advise me. Thanking you all in anticipation. Bry

Bry, we previously had an Imala with a twin Fiamma bike rack fitted. If the Imala has the same camera mount as the Tribute, pic below, then I'm certain that the 500-series box would hinder the view of the rear bumper.

Also, be aware that the maximum loading of the bike rack is circa 60kg and that the box in its empty state already weighs c.17kg so you've got 43kg max to play with.
I would not overload the rear wall with excess weight as I don't think the structure is that robust.

I hope someone can come along with a definitive answer for you.

All the best,

Andrew

Thank you andrew, ime sure that you are right. Many thanks for your response. Bry

Bry I have an Imala with the bike rack and I fitted a Fiamma box to it. The box will obscure the rear bumper. However, the worst effect of fitting the box is that all you will see on the screen is a white out, something to do with the auto focus of the camera. This can be overcome by spraying the top of the box matt black, you will then be able to see down past the box, which is what you want to see as the box will be the first thing that will be hit

Thank you for your response, this is a great site which ime so glad we've joined. I shall note your comments and have a think before proceeding. Happy times. Bry
