Seeing I don't know what I am doing and don't know anything about subscribing think I will see how it goes

What system do you have now ? Is it a single or twin din ?? I had a 2005 Autotrail and now a 2012 so yours comes in between .
Les Evans in Shrewsbury is repair agent for some of the Autotrail fitted systems, they do a lot of swop outs. May be worth a call / email and send what they recommend.

PIONEER DEH-4700BT BLUETOOTH CD RADIO STEREO PLAYER USB AUX MP3 WARRANTY TESTED

I bought this after my radio packed up. I wanted the USB port so I can play ALL my record collection via a miniature USB pen. I now have over 1700 tracks saved to it. I then found if I buy a £3.00 microphone it becomes an hands free phone - incredible and all for £40 from ebay.

I too have gone down the (relatively) cheap route. I got a fairly basic Kenwood single DIN radio with Bluetooth. I also got a good phone mount for the dash and changed one of the 12v sockets for USB sockets. My phone does all the heavy lifting for music and satnav. The radio just pipes the sounds out through the cab speakers.

If it's a double din unit a few Funsters (including us) replaced the ..ELE.... oem head unit with Android based Chinese manufactured kit retaining same functionality, radio, tv, sat nav, cd/dvd, media playback, etc. Costs were around £200.

Fitting a new one into my (double din) radio hole would worry me in case it doesn't match the fitted look of the existing kit, and also connecting it to the steering wheel remote controls. How do they match the current range of Ducatos? I rather miss the cd, even though I have a lot of mp3 stuff. I prefer stuffing a good old cd in, but there's no cd. I even thought of putting a portable cd player on the dash.

Sure I have an 8 track in the loft somewhere, maybe a CB radio also, do you roger that?, over? :D

So you see, your £15 subscription not only gives some useful answers, but be prepared for some off the wall ones too.:D

Seriously though, Pioneer seems to be the radio head unit of choice these days from (most not all) MH manufacturers, range is massive, it just depends on how many functions or toys you want on it.
Good luck, hope to welcome you as a fully paid up Funster soon.
Les

You get a surround that fits the media unit into the existing"hole" and this blends in very well with the surround \ fascia of the old unit coming out.
Would an "old" (say) 6 disc cd autochanger connect to you existing head unit? If so, you could maybe fit it in the glove box?

I threw one away a few months back, never thought of that. But on reflection, nowhere to put it. Thanks for the idea though.

Tell me about it. Mrs Dorwyn enjoys that act of throwing things out. It constantly annoys me. I can't blame her directly for the loss of this item, but I did it to please her. She likes to be able to walk through the garage so she can reach the bins (to throw things out). And as I'm originally from Yorkshire, halfway ooop north, does that make me half intelligent?

I went down the Chinese route and bought an Extrons unit of fleabay 3 years ago, not looked back, it does the lot and it's Android.
