We went to a show in 2002 and bought a new van from a dealer hundreds of miles away, caused us no end of problems, we would not do that again no matter what the deal, always buy local if you can.

I understand and yes, it's a risk. But hopefully, a calculated one.

We took the risk. Could have purchased the Pilote locally (but their trade in price was rubbish), instead went for Hayes Leisure in Walsall which is miles away. After we saw the van and decided that it could be a "go", spent half the evening looking for Pilote problems and Hayes Leisure problems on the interweb....... It was a short half evening as nothing much came to light on either. Hit the vino and did the deal the following day. No real issues to be honest; took the Malvern show opportunity to get a couple of minor bits fixed and that was it.....

Just the van.

When anyone asks how heavy I am I just say " proportionate".

I reckon VOSA would be ok with that.
