Auto Step Not Retracting

Just fixed fridge now the auto step not retracting I have a authorial chieftain switch main control panel all works fine as you do when on site pack up to move on if you forget to switch control panel off when you start the engine all should go off and step retract but this is not happening have to switch off and retract step manually is their a fuse somewhere that controls this please

The most likely cause is a dirty or faulty step limit switch. If you peer under the step you'll be able to see a small plastic plunger sticking out of the step motor cover. When the step retracts it pushes the plunger in. If I am correct the step warning light on the dashboard won't be working either. flicking the plunger in & out with your finger (or even running the step in & out using the switch by the door) might clear the fault temporarily but the switch will need removing and cleaning. Try moving by hand while pressing the button. Sometimes it’s just got dirty under there and got a bit stiff.
 
Thanks for that step works off the manual button inside the door ok but not auto and control panel stays on
 
Its nothing to do with the step. If the panel doesnt automatically turn off when the engine is started and the step doesn't retract its the D+ supply. There will be a small fuse and you have probably blown it while sorting the fridge. You will also find the fridge doesn't cool on 12 while travelling also. It may be in the engine bay near the battery but I dont know your van. It could also be the relay has stuck.
