I've already got an Irish plate ... WFZ 8707 ... can't decide whether to put it on the camper or not ... seeing as we currently have two V5Cs (3500kg and 4250kg) can't decide if doing so is worth loosing the 'chose a weight' benefit. :D

I'm going to put my new plate on and go for the pepper spray and baseball bat option if I have any problems
 
one thing you can do is thread your seat belt through the door handle and then secure them.

its as good as a strap from both doors.
 
I did this in several languages displa in the windows. No idea if it helps, but never yet had any problems. :)

Nope only put it out when parked up for the night. During the day when we go out, I rely on other methods. And It would seem you actually believe the notice. Excellent then I hope the scum do as well.:whistle:

just in case you haven't binned it, pepper spray is the same offence as carrying a gun.:) No idea why ,they must be frightened.
I bin mine at Dunkirk & get a new one on way back.(y)

I know this post is a couple of years old, this looks a very neat job. Did the silver trim around the cut edge of remis blind come with the Heosafe, or is this something you did yourself? (If so where did you get the trim from)? Many thanks,
 
I've just bought the same set , the trim isn't in the box

Its the firing mechanism that causes it to be a section 1 firearm.
Thats the uk police cs spray.

I presume that because this thread is three years old and a lot of the posters are no longer members, they have now given up motorhomeing.

Maybe. I cannot believe I posted on it about being grateful for the warning in May 2017. Then in March 2018 we were caught by the metal implement up the door handle trick in Spain.
Refuse to let it put us off though, why should scum deprive us of our lovely holidays.?

I can remember our unarmed combat - sorry - self defence instructor showing us how to easily disarm a man who was up close with a hand gun. Pity I never got the opportunity to prove the theory...

I recently had an incident with a "gun" at work. I got there. All was controlled. I asked about "A gun?" they pointed out this red rubber "gun". police were already en route. I tried explaining to them it was solid rubber, red and incapable of doing anything except erasing pencil but the ARVs insisting on turning up !

We have stopped at many spots in the middle of no where and apart from once being told we couldnt or shouldn't have stopped there never had any problems.

theives are businessmen why ride around all night looking for one vanj on a deserted aire when you can ply you trade in a place with many customers

I would have thought so? just google 'Armeria' to find one near you. Or google 'spray de pimienta' or 'Aerosol de pimienta' local to you.
In France they sell it in larger service stations.I bought one near Bordeaux it was in the counter at the till.Next time they were all hanging up with the stuff they have on display for truck drivers.

Ive said for years you are safer parked out in the middle of nowhere alone than you are on a campsite or aire with other campers ..... thieves want an easy life and easy pickings.

That has always been our attitude.

If they do come across a lone MH, if it is away from habitation it is likely to be occupied. How do they know it is not well protected and what are the chances of rich pickings?

It is all too 'fly-by-night' to bother.
