I see a chrome handrail so assume there are stairs on the RH side. Sun lounge on the roof? Cannot think why the major manufacturers have not pickup on this layout.

bit light in the steering i would think with the lift from that in head winds !!!

This makes it really easy for our friends trying to cross the channel.....

The idea is not new

There used to be a double deck caravan, which also had internal staircase and i think access onto the roof deck. i thimk it was around in the 50's or 60's

i remember there being a programme about renovating it. i never saw it finished but i am sure this is the one from the programme

I often think the same, I went to an air show in Florida & the amount of RV's with folk up on the roof was quite striking.
I know our motorhomes are lighter & therefor more limited than our motorhome cousins across the pond, but come on manufacturers, get your fingers out.

I think you may find it's the insurers.

We drove an Irish registered Mercedes 4x4 truck down South America a few years back.
It had a roof seat, which meant that about 4 people could sit on a padded shelf on top of a cupboard inside at the back and be outside from the waist up.
It had originally be designed for viewing game in Africa

The reason the vehicle was not allowed back into Europe was the roof seat.
The thought was that either the spectators would get their heads taken off by a low branch, wire or tunnel.
or there would be an collision and they would be cut in half by the roof.

I think that’s bloody brilliant. Perfect for those Aires that won’t allow camping behaviour....just have the bbq and drinks on the roof. I want one!

With a few tinnies on the go up there, its Too far to the loo, hardly surprising they are banned in France eh?
Imagine being parked up on a pitch next door.
"I am sure I felt a spit of rain in the air dear", quick get the table & chairs in.:giggle:
LES

Imagine what that lot must add to the weight with the strengthening stairs roof surface to withstand repeated walking on etc.
