Copied from a motorhome-related Facebook page:

In case anyone stores their van here and may not be aware they went into Adminstration a few weeks ago. Apparently the Administrators have no records of the owners of vehicles in storage so are unable to make contact. If you need to remove your van from the site you need proof of ownership and photographic ID and to make arrangements with the Administrator.

All the above is accurate but I have just seen a post which claims that any vehicles not removed by 8th April, when apparently they are closing the site, will be sold. Not sure if they could do this without applying to the DVLA for ownership and contacting the legal owners but even if they can’t anyone who stores their vehicle there needs to be aware of what’s going on so they can make other arrangements.

It was my wife who posted this, and then got abuse from a couple of barrack-room lawyers along the lines of "you can't do that, that's not legal". She subsequently deleted the post, there are some lovely people out there.

The point of the post was to alert people who stored motorhomes/caravans there who hadn't used them since last year and may not yet know. I know for a lot of caravan owners, first time out is traditionally Easter which is late this year. Whether the administrator can legally do what they claim or not is irrelevant to the point of the post.

Sorry to hear about the abuse directed at your wife by those trolls. That is totally out of order.

I take the point that without the site records the Administrators could find it difficult or impossible to trace owners of all the caravans. I don't know if the CRIS scheme may help. With motorhomes, at least DVLA is allowed to provide details of registered keepers to anyone with a valid reason for asking. You would hope that the Administrators will at least try but their duty towards the owners isn't as strong as it perhaps ought to be.
