Thought this separating toilet may be of interest to some - the video is in German but images explain how it works.
"With Arwinger conversion kit, Thetford Chemical Toilet C220/C250/C260 can easily be converted to a separate toilet. Only the "bowl" and the cassette need to be replaced. The basic frame and outer unit of the chemical toilet remain, only the inner life is exchanged in 30 to 60 min effort. In the video we show you the system and go over the details and possibilities of changing."

Before anyone asks - it's not for us as even if the bag is the compostable type, these aren't cheap & it's questionable of how to dispose of it ethically & safely. It is however an another option for those considering this.

As I don’t speak German, I’m at a loss to understand why anyone would want to do this? The thought of a smelly bag of naked poo greeting me every time I lift the lid has made me feel faintly nauseous! What are you supposed to do with the bag once it has, erm, deposits in it? How are you meant to dispose of it?

We used Nappy sacks when the kids were babies, and those things nearly walked out of the house by themselves!

I’ve got to say that my good old C200 with Elsan organic green liquid has never ever smelled at all. Not sure I’ll be rushing out to buy one of these conversion kits.

Omg a bit graphic 🤣🤣🤣🤮

I am not sure what problem they are trying to solve.

Or have they made a solution for a problem that does not exist, for many at least.

I think we need to get our 'poo in a bag' expert Northernraider onto the case.

Like all composting toilets they are only any good if you have a house and return to it regularly where you can dispose of it in a compost heap. Otherwise it's pointless as compost is not a quick process. So I gave up on that idea. I prefer to keep the cassette toilet and use that in countries where free disposal points are many. And in places where they aren't i go back to using the one bag one solid method and it's disposed of in the nearest waste bin . I have medical bottles for liquid.
