Water filter

That looks a good offer including the tap as well?? just one reservation I don’t know if the tap would work if you have a system with micro switch in taps??

Depends what you are trying to filter out. We have a similar one in the house, makes it taste better. If just trying to take impurities out then worth a go for the price. But if trying to make dodgy water safer then no as they don't remove bacteria

Emailed the firm about use in the MH but they said we'd be better with a UV one which were expensive.

This is the one we have, bit more expensive than that one but the replacement filters are cheaper.

Make sure you fit a 0.5 micron filter otherwise it may not remove parasites that cause diseases like Giardiasis which is becoming more common.

We use a filter system by a german company www.wm-aquatech.de. There is a UK dealer, Mirrorguard. They produce various filters including a tank cleaner. Procedure is to clean tank, fill with water via the filter. If you use one of the silver pads in the tank water will remain fresh and tasty for 6 months. Filter removes everything, all known pathagens etc. They reckon you could even filter pond and river water - not got the courage to try that. Not bought bottled water for over 12 months. Water tastes great.

We used to have one of these fitted in our old house, does make a huge difference to the taste of the water, it does exactly what they say and if you get the Hard Water filter it does remove most of the scale. We currently have the same one as Nixdorfer has, again with the anti scale filter option, does about the same level of taste improvement and scale reduction appears to be about the same but as we are now in a totally different region that's just a guestimate. Not sure where Nixdorfer is getting his replacement cartridges from but the Pozzani filters are considerably cheaper, £11.50 compared to almost £30 for the anti scale version from UK Water Filters.

No, only the pump activated by pressure.

With the domestic ones they connect with 6mm pipe I think you will have flow problems as the water pressure in a Motorhome won't be high enough to get a decent flow rate.

If you just want to get rid of the nasty tastes you sometimes get the Filtapac Econoflo works well I been using one for a few years. I just fitted it inline with the kitchen cold tap. Only £25.50 and replacement filters only £6.00

dead link?

I have one fitted and it works well, I replace the filter every year regardless of use,

Can't see that it is any better than the one i linked too? Here is the data sheet,

In my camper I use a Nature Pure system that will filter down to 0.1 microns absolute, expensive at £600 but very good.

But, when my filters are gone I will be binning it due to the dishonesty in distribution by the manufacture, exposed on MHFun

You shouldn’t have to double check what your given when your buying products that claim to remove Virus’s and Bateria

This is an account of how I fitted a filter. It has worked well since being fitted.

Very useful. I also contracted Giardiasis from (I’m fairly sure) a contaminated water source in Spain. Not pleasant and can be difficult to get rid of requiring several courses of high dose antibiotics which is as unpleasant as the disease. Careful where you get your water from and don’t skimp on filter quality!

Is there an executive summary for those of us with dyslexia or other people who hate reading ?
I didn't publish an account on here because everyone's system is so different. It wasn't hard to fit on our vehicle as access to the water system and pump is very easy - we just open the back doors. :) Essentially, you just need to tap into the cold water feed downstream of the pump and then run the hose to the filter and then on to the tap. The tricky bit is identifying what components you need to connect it all up.

The flow rate is adequate for filling a glass with water. After 6 months use it began to slow down but filters aren't too expensive, just over £20 from memory.

I fitted the Pozzani one a couple of years ago and put on the cold water feed to the shower/toilet space sink, handy for filling the kettle and drinks bottle.

Wasn't trying to claim it is, they do the same job. I'm just showing the one we use as an alternative.

We live in a soft water area so only ever had to buy the normal filter.. Just had 3 arrive today for £34.85, you get a better price if repeat ordering.
Similar price to the Pozzani, they are listed as £13.50 in that link

As a MH fills from various unknown quality sources the 3M HF10 Microbial would be one I'd look at for us if fitting one at all.

I fitted the Pozzani System.Best job I ever did.Really saves on space and having to find clean drinking water when touring off sites. They listed a T-piece for copper pipe but when I explained that it was for a motorhome they sent the correct parts for the job.A good choice of taps.Simply fit a rocker switch for
manually switching on the water pump.

Have this fitted in our motor home , easy to fit and no problems so far

Yes, that was the one in my opening thread. only 1micron filter though, 0.5micron is advised to filter certain micro-organisms. Not that we wild camp as such but checking what others have used.
