Has anyone followed the new EU rules to take their dog abroad? How easy or difficult did you find it?

We’re planning to take her abroad. We’ve changed her food into a brand you can buy in France. We’ve booked a vet for the Animal Health Certificate, cost £120. The vet needs evidence of all vaccinations, including rabies. They also need documentation for a working chip. Our appointment is made for August, a month before they need a deposit and all information. It’s a pain.

And if your bringing the dog to Northern Ireland it’s now classed as ‘abroad’ and there are extra veterinary check requirements such as a rabies injection cause we have rabies ravaged dogs, wolves and bears running amoke everywhere?! But when we did a round trip to Scotland a few weeks ago we didn’t bother with any of that and ‘smuggled’ the dog under a nice warm duvet under the fixed bed. The security guy even said hello💌🐶👨‍✈️
