Anyone on the A1/A505 yesterday

Traveling to Suffolk yesterday up the A1 turned off onto the A505 for a couple of miles east of Royston when the road was coned off, no signs or diversions just cones. Over the next hour I zig zagged north south until I found a bloke in a van who told me he had shut the road off for grass cutting. It was more or less Newmarket before we could get back on the road.

You are not the road worker that I spoke to in the van are you. He said exactly the same words.
I can understand the reasons behind the closure, my gripe was the lack of organised preparation for the closure. There wasn't any, which led to Mr Angry behind me banging the side of his van with his fist and shouting and hooting at everyone. Made me smile, he was probably on a Sunday job and finish...
