I am attempting to claim compensation from Anek ferries for a 24 hour delay on a crossing from Patras to Ancona, under EU regulation 1177/2010, or more precisely Paragraph 28 of Guidance Note 6.0 Chapter III of EU regulation no. 1177/2010. This can be seen at the following website:
Anek have offered compensation of 50% but only on the cost of the passenger fare, not that of the vehicle. My reading of the regulation paragraph 28 seems to clearly state the the vehicle cost should be included. However Anek claim that the EU commission have clarified that the vehicle is not included, but they only have this clarification in Greek, which of course I can't read, ( and i don't trust google translate to make much sense of a legal document).
Has anyone on here succeeded with such a claim and was the vehicle ticket price included on the calculation for compensation?
