I am sure this must have been discussed but can't find anything with a search. Has anybody used one of these generators. Not interested in; "It's made in China so must be rubbish." comments, as most things we use nowadays are made there and there is good and bad. The weight of 10kg sounds good, 5 hours running time on a full tank.
We will probably only use it very occasionally when we have a few days of no sun. I don't like having to move on from a great place in the wild just to find a site for a night to charge and I don't like running the engine on tick-over with the stupid DPF's etc.
Thanks for your comments.

Had a few Clarke genny's and never had a problem with any of them..My son has had one of the small ones for about 7 years without issue.. Always starts and runs and produces electrickery

For the money- throw it away if it breaks
Less than £200 on e bay :)
FYI- Latest Volvo S90 Luxury saloon is made in China, and the build quality has staggered the Swedes

Thanks for the comments I presume from the amount of replies that nobody has tried one so bit the bullet and ordered one. Couldn't find this model on ebay at all so ordered from Amazon.fr which is about £5 dearer than .co.uk but delivered free to my home here so I get a chance to try it out and get set up for charging before we go to UK in June.
Any suggestions, is it better to charge batteries directly with the 12V outlet or use the 240V through the charger. I have a Hymer with the Schaudt EBL101 box. Thanks.
Steve

When I need to charge my batteries, I just use the 240volts socket and plug in as you would with EHU.

Yes, the 12v output will take forever to charge the batteries. :gum:
