If you need site loos and shower you’re not going to get something for £8 a night unless it’s after the kids go back to school.
Then look at Haven sites one at Thirnwick bay and one(Blue Dolphin) just outside Filey

Really cheap out of season, £9 a night last year, lovely shower blocks, swimming pool the full works, for pennies.

CL's and CS's will very rarely have a toilet/shower block. It is not worth the hassle for a 5 pitch site for the owners.

Mablethorpe c and cc club site for 3 nights, with awning and hook up, has showers etc and on a hard standing, for £108, High season price, 2 Adults and dog.

In the current c and cc site listings, in my opinion it seems to be that cs’s are at a ratio of 50% that have/ have not got shower and loo facilities.
Have stayed on a few with nice facilities, but at this time , specifically on the main seaside East coast resorts, sites may well be full. 😊

Thanks captain yoghurt pot i tried to book in there but they could only accomadate 2 of my nights🙃
I was lookin for £20 a night not £8 😀l i couldnt see anyone doin it fir £8 unless they do it for the company lol
Used to camp at thornwick bay years ago with 5kids dogs grannie and a couple of kids friends the kids loved it and so did we
We went back in motorhome about ten years ago and found it had changed quite a lot :
But might look at it out of season as you say
Might be lincolnshire wolds ive been told greetham retreat is v nice
Was fancying a bit of a sea breeze to blow cobwebs away but will settle for a bit of country air and birdsong instead of traffic
Will try sutton on sea hopefully when old campers facilities have been tested cos sutton on sea is lovely thanks for replies guys

Why are you looking for a CL or CS then, they rarely have them.
But they aren’t that rare now.
It seems quite a few have upped their game from what I have been looking at, as it has been worth their while due to clients now looking for that bit extra without going to a huge commercial type site.
I like CL and CS sites, when I can get on them and can get away.

To me if they are doing that they have lost the plot. My type of CS/CL is a field with a tap and a hole to dump my waste, don't really need either of them and certainly don't want EHU.

You are now in High Season, 10days ago it would have been a lot cheaper.

I have found recently that, if they have facilities, they charge nearly Club site rates. This is okay if you want a quieter location.

But some do Lenny, but like the idea of only 5 vans and possibly upto 10 tents, so compact , small and bijou, without any more thills other than EHU, couple of loos and a small toilet block.
I know I do, but each to their own 😊

I think putting in EHU and having to increase prices to cover the expenditure has completely ruined the ethos of a 5 van site. The original idea was cheap no frills camping it's gone to pot now.

Bang on there, there were plenty of lovely cheap CLs around a fiver a night, now been ruined because they’ve put in EHU and a toilet then shoved the price up to over £20.

CazPaul Lenny HB still plenty of those types of sites available each to their own, i like both but prefer at least a toilet if staying in the doblo, although it does have a loo and can use the sink for a wash. So glad we are all different and different facilities are available for those who need them

Yup, its called evolution and survival of the fittest. There seems to be more demand for EHU on CL's and CS's . How many users are caravanners who only use only battery/solar? Not that many I suspect, and tuggers must make up at least 50% of the demand. for these sites. I have also noticed that in the CMHC mag, a significant number of the CL closures are those CL's without EHU, so for some of these maybe there isn't enough demand and/or the cost of installation of EHU is not economical.
I did find a great CL in Fife on the cliffs overlooking one of the lovely fishing villages, isolated , with views and no EHU. I would have suggested it to the OP, but sadly its now closed.

It will go in the opposite direction due to electricity costs, I think we will see more CLs just a field, fresh water point and toilet cesspit.
Wishful thinking from me but I hope so.

I think, since lockdown, sites installing EHU so that they can extend their season dates.
I for one would not like to be on a site over Christmas without a EHU despite having a diesel fuelled Eberspacher heater.

The downside is, since they installed them, they will now have to increase the cost of the EHU because of every increasing electricity cost?

Same for me but we have friends who have a top notch motorhome and have never used their own facilities? That’s why we never travel with them.
