Looking for some tips from anyone who has a stoma as a result of surgery and has stayed in their motorhome with it.
I've just had bowel cancer surgery and am wondering what is the best way of getting the output into the toilet cassette without creating armageddon??

Hi . I haven't had personal experience of this but my mother had a stoma when she was in her 80s. It took a bit of getting used to but she tended to use the disposable bags which were then just thrown out complete with contents. She then put them in other bags to dispose of, which were fairly similar to dog poo bags.... She also made several trips to South America and found that the stoma bags you just empty down the loo easier to cope with then, especially when on the planes and at airports. No armageddon scenarios luckily.

So I don't think you'll have too much difficulty in your motorhome. At least there you are sure your bathroom is clean and you can have all your supplies to hand.

Good luck..

Hi Pete, I've hopefully "started a conversation " with you on my method, hopefully you will get this but if not let me know via this thread.

I had an ileostomy bag for 3 years after my cancer op in 94, once i got in a routine I quickly got used to it. I used to sit back on the toilet and lean forward so I could empty it down the pan.
