our new to us Burstner Brevio 2016 came without a spare wheel, today I took a look underneath to see if I can retro fit the carrier, the bolt holes are there but the problem as I see it is this white box which I think will foul the wheel. Anyone got an idea what it is 🤔
Thanks in advance
Andy

Its a white box? Take the lid off and have a look but check inside for the approximate location before doing so, as guess do you have or has there been a tow bar fitted? It could be the junction box

Or maybe it’s for hiding spare keys

Edit:That cleverDBK beat me to it.

Is it where the drop vents are for the gas locker?

you could certainly move it without any difficulty.

It’s a waterproof adaptable box.
Used for domestic electrical outside installations.

Turn the screws to undo and all will be revealed 😊

Thanks all
Phil D thanks for the image I think a smaller box box is called for 😊

I think the wheel goes upside down so it should be ok.

I have one of those under the water tank on my Burstner, it got elec conection in it - you can detach and move it over as far as cables allow if it's in the way. Wheel carrier is an easy fit if you can get under.

From somebody that has owned the same MH, It's a electrical connection box, No big deal if you want to move it but if you have any fears then visit your local service supplier.

Ordering spare wheel carrier, hoping to fit this coming weekend. Hopefully the box will not get in the way, if it does it will be a case of moving or getting a smaller box.
Thanks everyone for you I put and help it’s appreciated

Its an electrical connection box. To be sure what it is for follow the leads out of it and see where they go. It could be used for the tow bar electrics. It also looks very similar to the box that eddievanbitz uses when they fit their motorhome alarm to allow connection for rear sirens and bike loop. Or it could be for others things that have been fitted after the the motorhome was made, like reversing cameras.

Not ours as it has side entry wires

It is to house the Tow Bar buzzer I expect

That box appears to be like one under mine which has the habitation battery box (fairly close) with the wires in and out. Made of steel and needing a good sorting as it is rusting (why in these days they have not used plastic?) so will get that job sorted soon.

It is a boom. (in my best Inspector Clouseau voice)

I think it’s probably an e11022797.

I’d say it’s definitely a electrical junction box, if it’s going to foul the spare wheel it wouldn’t harm to extend the wires and relocate the box.

Many manufacturers no longer fit spare wheels, you really do not need one if you have break down cover. by fitting the spare wheel it will reduce the amount you can carry.

That statement sounds like very poor advice, most breakdown companies state that you must have a serviceable spare wheel, meaning not one that’s punctured or already flat or baldy, but in a condition to fit to the vehicle, but as for not really needing to carry oneat all. Well... I am lost for ‘words.

Tell that to the manufacturers then
