2nd time around.
Been in France last 3 weeks. No issues.
Watched Tour de France stage yesterday. Gendarmes very vigilent on facemask wearing. Threw a couple of spectators out of the smallish group at Eze, where we watched.
Off to Italy tomorrow.

Hi Jezzerr bit late Iā€™m afraid but thank you all the same. We are in France ourselves now on the CĆ“te dā€™Azure and like you will be traveling to Italy in about five days time. Unless there is another lockdown in France then I would travel to Italy immediately as we are only one hour fifteen minutes from the border. We are initially off to Lucca in Tuscany where are you heading.
Cheers
Phil

Initially near Genoa. Then weather dependant either inland to Lake Como or further along coast. However thunderstorms forecast along coast rest of this week!
Have you done Italy before?

Yes we have done Italy numerous times itā€™s a great place to be and there are so many stunning places to visit. The lakes there are superb, the Amalfi Coast is also a must see, Tuscany, Venice the list is endless. Bellagio is well worth a look if you head to lake Como And thereā€™s a small campsite there. If you need recommendations just let me know.
Regards
Phil

Def appreciate recommendations - I drove down to Rome and then up to Venice decades ago and flown to Venice subsequently. Also been to Imola and Mugello - but they were short in/out.
Do you use Camp sites or free style?

We use both campsites and off grid areas but as you know in a lot of well known beauty spots there is little chance of an aire or night park up. If you are going to Garda camping Sirmione is just in a brilliant location and a nice walk up to Sirmione its self. Iā€™ve attached a pic giving coordinates etc. Itā€™s easier to text other info. Came over to Italy on Sunday through Frejus. Pissing with rain and 14 for a couple of days in France, then through the tunnel 23 and sunshine! Down to Genoa today for ferry to Palermo. Religiously printed out the current 4 page forms as the ones I did at home were superceded. Not asked for them so far. Have completed the Sicilia app in readiness to "check in upon arrival in Sicily".
Chilly night, here at Caselette but warming nicely in the blue skys.

We've been in Italy for nearly 3 weeks and had glorious weather but it was psissting down in Rome yesterday although improving again today a bit further north.
Heading back up to Como or Magiorre via Milan Malpensa airport to pick up niece for a long weekend. Anybody know any nice sites at either lake?

dunnah01 Can I ask how you found picking up someone at Malpensa in a Motorhome or did you meet nearby the airport as we are looking at that in a couple of weeks ?

We were only comfortable to park at the airport for about 15 mins so we waited at a quiet road nearby. Once our niece had gone through the airport she called us and we drove in to pick her up. No problem driving and parking at the pickup point in a 8ish metre long x 3m high motorhome.
