Any ‘must dos’ on Anglesey?

We spent the night here once in our t4 high top.
Beaumaris castle is a must see.

Hi all - I’m on my way to Anglesey in my VW camper (not sure whether it qualifies as a motor home, but I love this forum and learn lots of stuff!). Never been before and will be camping near Newborough as I love looking for native orchids. Are there any unmissable places or things to do? I’m hoping to find a good seafood shack (not Michelin style or price!) and just wander around and explore with my two whippets - so tend to avoid places where I can’t take them.
Youre starting off in a great location with plenty to do in this weather beaches at Llanddwyn and Rhosneigr are stunning. Dont forget the north coast lovely harbours

Transport museum is GREAT. Pub stopover for this is the Gaerwen Arms.

Got to visit Beaumaris an area of outstanding beauty as is a lot of Wales but I'm biased coming from Wales.

Fabulous 'Zapatisimo' run by Rory O'Donnell. Just off Rhosneiger Beach. Cooked to order Mexican food. Very scrummy and very good price. Outside a glass craft studio. Open air eating at comfy benches. No problem for dogs. A 'Don't Miss Experience' in gorgeous part of Angelsey.

I’ll look out for you! Always notice folks with whippies! My new rescue girl has decided she’s Tarzan and pulls me everywhere, so if you see someone doing low-level aerobatics … it’s me!!!

Rhosneigr has two wonderful beaches (dog friendly) which the Anglesey coast path goes through. Also you can walk through the dunes at the foot of the Valley airbase runway on the path just before the golf course and walk to the beach that way. The views are fab. And on a weekday you can see the jets and other training aircraft landing and taking off. Ukraine pilots were reportedly being trained there earlier in the year. Last week we saw an F16 flying so maybe that was for that purpose. And it's where the Red Arrows train.
The town has several restaurants all of which are good. Outside of school holidays you can park your van on the Station road during the week but not overnight. Well you can park anytime but you'll struggle to find a spot in holidays and weekends. There is also a layby down Station Road near the golf course and a free car park there.
There are several campsites that take tourers. The two in town are Bodfan (closest to town) and Shoreside (closest to beach). There's another just out of town called Afallon which is peaceful but it's too far to walk into the town. If you're thinking of going for a few days you'll need to stock up with provisions before arriving as there is only one supermarket which is basically a corner shop.

The North Costal Path has some pleasant safe walks. The North West path has some spectacular cliffs but isnt safe for kids and dogs. The little Pengraig campsite looks lovely though I stayed at Caerau which is bigger.

Must visit Pary’s mountain.
Party’s mountain has big stony tracks but also lots of pleasant small footpaths. I enjoyed exploring using my GPS app. Photo: lagoons. The car park has a height barrier but there is roadside parking and some footpaths meet the road a short way from the main car park.

If you want to try very good food a lovely beach and probably see Choughs I'd have a look at Church Bay
You are also right on the costal path with some beautiful wild flowers.
One of our favourite parts of Anglesey.
I walked there from the Caerau Campsite. Lovely costal path though not for children or dogs. Church Bay might get crowded in high season.

Yes we have stayed there many times there are two camp sites both within five minutes from the beach, a fire and bottle of wine on Church Bay Cove on a nice evening priceless.

Oh what a shame. Lovely staff, super-friendly and dog-welcoming. Hope they bounce back soon

Red Squirrels at Penrhos Coastal Park.

Hi y'all, the CL run by Peter and?? just outside Cemaes Bay, down the road opposite the fuel station, is brilliant. Great hosts, fresh free range eggs and huge pitches.

Going there next week from 16th for a few days, the weather forcast is dreafull, booked in at Port Meirion later in week or would not bother. (no refunds)

Amazing to bump into you today! Sorry we didn’t get a chance to chat but I had to shop for food and didn’t want to leave the dogs in the van for too long in the heat! Hope you get home safely - your whippets were lovely!
