So, before theres a storm of animal lovers on my case, I do like ‘em , EXCEPT when they eat my airlines and electrics ….
Just had it all fixed (££££) and they did it again little gits. Don’t know whether its cats or foxes.
Now I’m NOT looking for suggestions for hunting, poisoning or shooting them, but anyone have first hand knowledge of good anti fox and/cat deterrent that works?
Walked round the van tonight squirting lemon juice, the neighbours think we are doing some weird ritual thing….

When you get it done again, could you smear it in a nasty grease substance that would be abhorent to an animal (im not a mechanic ) or could you wrap wire wool round it? Rodents wont chew on wire wool ,again im not a mechanic just thinkin of ideas. Pampam

Most likely grey squirrels. We had a nest in an inaccessible part of the loft in our previous house and they started chewing on the house wiring. Seems they like to get out the oils in the wires' insulation.

Only way we could get rid of them was early morning vigils with an air gun below the access hole they has gnawed in the fascia.

Do you have any motion operated lights that you could try near the wheel arch? Looking at the damage its rodent based not fox.

Update!
So, this morning the little f******** have done the christmas lights on the tree in the front garden.
Operation Exterminate in full flow,
Cctv , chemicals, traps, …. phase 2 … troops, electric fences etc,
Cant access lion poo but I fully expect one of them to come along in a minute,
We are not even rural …

In laymans terms, anyone tell me how the mileage registers on the dashboard, is it an electrical connection to a wheel? Never thought about it before…

Thanks , thinking arsenic…

My money is on squirrels.

You can buy traps online or at your nearest agricultural type hardware place.

Definitely rats or squirrels, foxes and cats have no wish to do that, get some proper bait boxes around, with some good poisoned bait, either find out your local vermin catcher and get some off him, or ask in the pub someone will know someone who can get it, this stuff they sell in b&q type places just feeds them.

Call the council they are usually the cheapest. If they do it many have stopped.

Fox car damage example below, thought this or similar events have also been reported on BBC?

In that case ,I stand corrected, but it's a new one on me.

Peeing on your tyres might work.....

I've been told that taking a late night pee around chicken coops deters foxes from breaking in....

Cheers James

We have had many examples of your photo here, rats will chew any cables and pipes they can get to, under the dash , anywhere, can near enough wreck a vehicle.
But never seen a fox do anything like it but these urban foxes are evolving into a different animal.
Cats, never.

Dog pee on your tyres, works for foxes...
