Another few weeks..

The cab seats are back from the trimmers. And fitted

A lot quicker than I thought they would be..
Still a little bit to do to the seat bases and that is near on the cab finished.

Ordered a new fitted rubber matting for the cab.

We’re still on with our furnishings refurb bit ourselves renewing all the interior cushions and privacy curtains.

The curtains are near on finished just need ironing and hanging. The curtain rail trims have now been recovered and now fitted .

And I am now on with the u shaped Trim that goes around the cab over the driving and passengers seat that incorporates the Cab curtain rail. fitted today.

A flat front top front trim panel and the above and cab completed.

Cushioned seats to go. Carpet and underlay Then good clean and tidy. And I think the inside will be completed.

The roof works are finished just need a good clean now and that will be roof work also completed.

Still a few bits to do on the exterior replacing security dead locks. A two more lengths of herzim strips to change.
Adding an external waterproof 240 volt socket.

Then all the underside mechanical wax oil Under seal a very small welding repair engine service.

I have to sort out the side valance and rear bumpers yet there all different colours over the years with replacement parts.
They will be resprayed using a plastic primer ect.

I need a few dry days for that. Thinking I may just need a litre of primer and top coat thinking grey on the bottom.
Then again a strip of Herzim inset in the bumper and sides a sealing strip top of wheel arches and rear bumper.

Not far away from the end now.

So what have I learnt since starting.
Well I have a good insite on what goes where …How to either replace it or repair it.
How to make additions and improvements .
So this one is a keeper for us. Well for now anyway.

And as for the total cost I would have spent more on a single holiday abroad .

Next year We’ll it could be an update to the exterior graphics . And anything else that arises.
Or this year so she indoors has just said.

I will more than likely post what’s done an a lot of images.

Last seat finished and fitted today.
curtains to hang now also finished.
just hoovering the carpet and then some more cleaning and the inside after six weeks is near on done.

at least I think so.

still a lot to do yet outside and underside.

Graphics away well the rear end and one side.

it’s a start on the outside not too sure what we’re going to do maybe leave it plain.

still lots of adhesive to clean off then a good going over with g3 and a polish.

now just broken the polisher machine.

when things start going real well there’s always something that goes wrong.

so back to get another two lengths of curtain track from B& Q.

I am running out of inside jobs to do now so I guess it’s all outside and underneath very soon.

There’s lots of room underneath to weld on hands holds as well. After I weld up the wheel arch .

Well that went well.
managed to get it all off and welded a plate but only one side.
the inside is under the spot welded into position battery tray.

may have ago atbplating the inside as well but I don’t think it will need it.

then blacked it all in. I know it does not go well
with the mot testers but there more than welcome to have a knock about with what ever.

Tackled the rust yesterday this was under the GRP and mastic patch.

I had to cut out a lot more it if.
looks like it has been caused by the overflow or breather for the battery.
a plastic tube from the top corner of the battery and was sitting above the damaged bit.

Now replaced the tube with a long one that clears everything.

all the rusty bits were removed treated with a rust fluid and welded a new plate .

So the windows are not very secure after seeing how fast someone could gain entry through the window
even with all the dead locks to doors.

so looked about for some sort of security for the handles .

easy to get in with a bit of bent wire and then just lift the Handle up. Amazed and shocked. We’re just two of the words I used.

but these push on and off as required.
bright orange can be seen from the outside.
and there is now way the handled can be pushed up to gain entry.

now I do know nothing is safe and if anyone wants to get in they will But maybe a little Off putting to the passing casual
tea leaf.. and I do know not all windows are the same.

£2.00 each. What’s not to like.

At long last today I finished the the side of the draft excluder which clips on the side of the van while the awning is up

I managed to put some webbing on it both sides for superstrength and then cut and burnt the holes through where the tent pegs pin it to the ground.

And it’s now ready to be threaded on and used . I attached a loop either end at the top so as to make it easier to pull along.

attached to it is the wheel cover that will be held up with some adjustable and removable. Suckers.

With the holes already made …..Each time I put a pin through it will be the same hole and cause no damage to this draft skirt . and should get a fair bit of use out of it.
Unlike one I had before that there were that many tent peg holes in it. There was not a lot left of it.
then the slightest strong wind and it would tear a little more.

Can the 3D printer people on here do them? 🤷‍♂️

I’m interested as another layer to my ‘obvious‘ security measures. (y)
