any do’s and dont’s or scary stories

i’m intending to install one in our internal garage in our house if they’re any good

Also the advert says 1 gallon of fuel a night, is this correct?

Or recommendations welcome

Initial reaction is that it is very cheap, very.
Sounds like a lot of fuel but we don’t know how this was assessed.

When you compare with Webasto at well over a grand, Russian heater at maybe four fifty and Chinese at say one twenty, this is amazing.

I’d worry about noise but try it and tell us how you get on.

Very cheap! Vevor appear to be trying to get in to the leisure and power tool markets. For the sake of £39 it might be worth a go? I bought a portable water softener from them and it does what it's supposed to. No complaints from me.

A gallon of fuel sounds a lot? is that just maintaining temp or building it, certainly looks the part! we use about 5 euro worth of diesel a day maintaining temps (not Vevor brand) but a cheapo £90 Chinese copy.

Not sure why it's portable when you must have the exhaust and preferably the inlet on the outside of the van. You'd need to rig up some sort of gas tight exhaust connection.
The kit itself looks like it's just the usual Chinese heater (in a box with a handle) which are fantastic

I use around 20 Litres a week of diesel in my heater in my caravan at the peak of winter.
This is keeping it at a liveable temp 24 hours a day. I switch of at night as I get into bed, but frequently get woken up half way through due to the cold and turn it back on.

20 Litres is around 4.4 gallons. so 0.6 gallons each 24 hour period. Roughly speaking.

I am not a fan of those all in ones to be honest.

I recall trading standards having an issue with some of these.

The problem was poor instructions leading them to being poorly installed rather than actual defects with the units, so it may be ok if well fitted.

That being said, not sure I would buy one from a shop that also sells jewellery etc.!

Plus, I wonder if they load the postage to keep the list price low.

Lots of u tube vids on these heaters and also ways of improving temps especially in a home garage situation by running the exhaust through a radiator beforecits vented to the outside.
For the prices of the Chinese heaters you really can't go wrong and spare parts are cheap and easily obtained.
We put one in our van .it's been really good and toasty warm.

Think Temu of the tool and leisure market. i.e loss leaders. Some rubbish products, some good or better.

Just installed a cheapo Chinese job in the garage a couple weeks ago. It was £54 inc delivery from AliExpress and works a treat. If anything, I was really surprised at the quality being so high for the price. It's supposed to be 8Kw but I reckon it's closer to 4. It's nowhere near as good as the Eberspacher in the van but considering it's less than 1/20th the cost, I'm certainly not complaining.

I bought this a few weeks ago and it's been great so far. I have it installed so it boosts the heat in our kitchen/dining/conservatory if needed.
I've just added a different fuel tank (20l plastic drum) so I don't have to top it up every 2 or 3 of days, depending on use

I have a couple of these and cannot sing their praises highly enough. Brilliant 24L tank.

Add one of these and it is dead easy to fit. No through tank fittings etc. Gauge on the top, easy to fill.

The plastic drum I used was previously used for paraffin and was free, the pick up was £12 and because the drum is clear I can see the level at a glance.

I have several h calory 5 kw heaters and they’re A better Q than the vevor. But they all come from the same factory just different company’s require better quality They make 3 diff kw models And you can tell which they are by the outlet pipe dia 2 kw 60 mm 5 kw 75mm 8 kw 90 mm and there actually physically different in size If you want the all singing controller for these heaters the you need the ( afterburner controller with the correct motherboard ) YouTube video/ Facebook group Oh and it’s the 6 bladed fan controller heater is the better ones to buy as standard as it has mor options available the 3 blade are basically on of only enjoy

As said just an importer, had a few bits from them lower end of Chinese imports my opinion. How good would they be for problems? Is it that cheap ? £40 plus taxes plus shipping ...had a quick look shipping seems to be £6.99 taxes vat or ? Couldn't see where shipped from 14 days DHL ?
Not for me I've used Ali express, temu, bangood ,all of which are a bit or lot more up front but would still pay £15/£20 more for a night heater from eBay because of the back up if problems arise

Here's a clearer and organized version of your message:

Hi,

I have two similar heaters, one in my garage and one in my shed. They're quite effective at producing heat, which I appreciate, and the claim of 8 hours to the gallon seems accurate. However, they are very noisy, both inside (due to the fans) and outside, which discourages me from using them. I'm concerned about potentially annoying my neighbors with the noise.

Aside from the noise issue, the heaters are excellent for heating spaces.

Does this revised version work for you?

Assume thats an a i response.

Ai isn't what it's cracked up to be..@al n val never mentioned anything about some of the stuff your AI response produced.

I found his original message clear enough.

It's one problem with a i...it can make stuff up
..oh and the American spelling, "neighbors"

You get what you pay for!

My understanding is, if you buy cheap, then you get cheap! Think about quality and, "How much fuel?"
They gotta be kidding?

Plus, if it breaks down, where to get parts or is it a case of throw away and buy again! Think about the long term.

We just bought a Truma D6E combi at Black Friday price from Jacksons Leisure at a cost of £1600 and that will be my last big buy for a while but I know it will do exactly what I want it to do. Heat water and blow hot air (bit like my wife sometimes :ROFLMAO: ) to warm the van.

In my mind, quality over rules everything else. But that's only if you can afford it.
We were lucky, cos our robbing council has been charging us council tax at band D for 14 years and when I looked into querying it, we are actually a band C. We then had a lump payment of just over £3000 back (no interest mind you!), so half went on the heater. Happy days (y)

Can't agree with you get what you pay for idea a high percentage of stuff is now just rebadged ..what would be referred to by the unknowing as cheap ...some of the cheap has proved itself to be near as good or as good as the trusted brands and many trusted brands have reduced quality in order to compete whilst maintaining high profit margins to cover massive marketing expenses.Unless you are going take the case off and check the origin and quality of components side by side there is nothing except your perception of a brands quality(usually based on historic data)..or review sites that are so contradictory which coupled with the fact people are far less likely to bother leaving a positive review as to being of little value. There are many old trusted brands I would not entertain and many unknown /unbranded products I would recommend based on personal knowledge.
Buyer Be(a)ware !
A good name in a 5 star setting doesn't always mean a good product

Yes, I understand where you're coming from. But years ago, it used to be Great Britain and we did use to produce some descent quality goods, next to the Germans. But now, everything is either chinese or korean. Back in the 60's, we used to laugh at stuff that said "Made in China" on the bottom.

And yes, I do read into what people say in the reviews as the majority of reviews are extremely important in terms of purchasing anything these days.

Only a fool would part with their hard earned cash before checking out the reviews for something!

Just my 2 peneth, but it's a real observation.
I have had 2 of the £80 chinese models, the current one is now in its third winter and performing faultlessly, its used most days during winter as my van is my daily driver, so it defrosts the van in a morning from the comfort of my house using the remote.
It has been on the lowest setting overnight when we are away and it's below freezing outside.
How many posts are in here about truma faults!
Fit the chinese heaters properly, route pipework and pump at correct angles and away you go.

I simply wouldn't fit anything else, you can also buy kits for them to heat water and underfloor heating.
Like I say, just my experience.

P.S we move home in January and I will have a large detached garage at last, I'll be fitting one of those the OP originally mentioned, the "all in one" type in the garage, probably a 5kw version.
Oh, and fuel usage, they use very little, lowest setting is 0.1ltr per hour.
