From the Sunday Times today 12th June 2022

It switches from describing the cramped conditions in a T6 and bed making to describing drivers clogging up country roads with their 'massive' vehicles, which they can barely drive.

It refers to a film featuring a lady in USA and describes her using a bucket for toilet, yet shows a picture of her standing beside a Coachman MH which is obviously big enough to have its own shower and toilet.

No mention of Motorhomes or any attempt at trying to compare a campervan with a MH.

Absolute crap journalism but the anti-MH brigade will probably lap it up.

Let them , personally I take it all with a pinch of salt

Yes I read to too. A very poor piece of journalism from an obviously uninformed writer. Those who know a thing or two about motor homing will laugh at the inaccuracies.

Bad news though. It's like all journalism out to be a bit shocking choses an easy target ( us motorhome owners are a minority!) and will have an adverse effect on public perception. Little different than picking on any other minority as the cause of all ills.
Just remember how accurate the article is next time you read shock horror stories about any other group.

Did you notice cost of the Sunday Times has risen to £3.50 this week.
Last time I will purchase after being a customer for over 30 years.

Can't read it . Paywall.

But the fact the author googled " camper van" once 6 months ago tells you everything you need to know about him .

I have written my comments and a note to the Editor that the article needs another one balancing the Motorhome point of view, i.e. we have toilets, fixed beds, more space etc.

It is very lazy journalism. But divisive, ill-informed articles gain the attention of readers - or on websites, reader-interaction in the comments area that drives advertising revenue.

Camper/motorhome wars with the locals, or cyclist/car driver road wars, or woke cancel culture wars are all examples of the same style.

Some years ago the Times ran an article suggesting that cyclists should be decapitated by wires strung across the road. Hardly the epitome of rational, sober journalism from what should really be a newspaper of record. They went seriously downhill when they became part of Rupert Murdoch's empire.
