I have an ACSI card, but not quite sure how to use it. Is it possible to book a pitch in advance? I need to be at a particular campsite for a particular date.

Cheers

On some you can book in advance. You need to look at the description of the site and all the letters. Each letter tells you which facility the site has, there is a list of the letters and which facility each letter corresponds to at the front of each book. You soon get the hang of how to use it.

I have always been able to book if I needed to. Tends to be busy popular sites or at a particular time of an event. If it is for an event nearby, they often ask for minimum nights stay, 7 nights if Tour de France stage starting/ending nearby.
Of course some sites may be shut at the moment and office closed.

ACSI is a low season discount scheme. We just rock up and have never been turned away.

The downside is that some sites have allocated "ACSI pitches". The pitches no full rate customer would willingly choose.

We have found sites full many times but mainly in Germany and on one of their very many holiday weekends. Tends to be late May or June when we are travelling there.

It is possible to book with ACSI but some sites will charge a booking fee. Best to email them & find out if you don’t want to pay.
